Delhi government to support children’s education financially, who lost parents due to Covid-19

The Delhi government recently announced that it will sponsor all the education expenses of children who have lost their parents due to coronavirus. These children will receive free education. The government will also pay for other necessary expenditure and will also take the responsibility of the upbringing of these children.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a press conference said that he is heartbroken after knowing about the fact that many children have lost both their parents. He urged those children not to consider themselves as orphans. He further stated that the government will take care of the upbringing and studies of these children.

The CM informed that although around 8,500 new Covid-19 cases have been reported in Delhi, the last 24 hours have witnessed a reduction of the positivity rate to 12%.

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also announced recently that the state will provide a pension of Rs 5000 per month to the children who have lost their parents due to Covid. Additionally, these students will receive free education. Students from classes 1 to 8 will receive a stipend of Rs 500 per month, while the students from classes 9 to 12 will receive an amount of Rs 1000 per month.
