Live updates on the Coronavirus: India announced a decrease in the number of new Covid-19 cases on Monday. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there have been 368,147 infections in the last 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to 19,925,604. On the same day, there were 3,417 deaths reported. India has added 2,597,887 cases to its count in the last seven days alone. There are currently 3.4 million active cases in the world.
The Supreme Court on Sunday asked the Centre and states to include “a break-up of the current and projected availability of vaccine stocks for the next 6 months; and a timetable for achieving immunisation of those aged 18-44 years,” as well as “a break-up of the current and projected availability of vaccine stocks for the next 6 months.” It also advised the federal government and states to “consider implementing a lockout to contain the virus in the second wave for the sake of public health.”
In the last 24 hours, Maharashtra recorded 56,647 new infections, followed by Karnataka (37,733), Uttar Pradesh (30,983), Delhi (20,000), and Kerala (31,959).
Maharashtra (4,722,401 cases), Kerala (1,638,778), Karnataka (1,601,865), Uttar Pradesh (1,313,487), Tamil Nadu (1,207,112), and Delhi (1,207,112) are the six states with the most cases (1,194,552).
Coronavirus cases continue to grow across the world, with 153,478,525 people infected with the deadly virus. Although 131,475,914 people have recovered, 3,216,128 people have died. With 33,180,441, the United States remains the worst-affected country, followed by India, Brazil, France, and Turkey.
However, India has added the most new cases in the last seven days, with 2,597,887 cases, followed by Brazil (417,760) and the United States (363,150).
