Government Allocates Rs. 16,500 Crores, Teachers to Get Tablets

Investing in Education!

The AAP government has made a significant investment in the education sector with its 2023–24 budget, allocating an unprecedented Rs 16,500 crore—an increase of over Rs 200 crore from last year’s budget. This is a clear indication of the government’s commitment to providing quality education to the people of Delhi and their dedication to creating a brighter future for all.

The government is providing every teacher, principal, and deputy director of the Education Department with a tablet to help them in their learning and teaching. With this tablet, teachers, principals, and deputy directors will have access to the latest educational tools and resources to further their professional development and improve the quality of education in their classrooms.

Additionally, in order to improve the learning environment in these schools, the Delhi government has announced a ‘Smart School’ program. Initially, this program will include about 350 schools and give each of these schools 20 computers. This program is aimed at making these schools more digitized and connected to the latest technologies so that students can benefit from a better learning experience.

Kailash Gahlot, the Finance Minister of Delhi, praised the Delhi education system in the Assembly on Wednesday for its success under Arvind Kejriwal’s model of governance, calling it “world-renowned.” He highlighted the accomplishments of Delhi schools in various areas, including the plan to expand the Ambedkar Schools of Specialized Education from 20 to 37 over the next two years. Furthermore, he emphasized that this expansion would be completed by 2023.
