Using Photographs of potato crop leaves, IIT scientists develops a computational model for automatic identification of diseases in potato crops. The research led by Srikant Srinivasa, Associate Professor, school of computing and electric engineering, IIT Mandi can detect disease in Potato leaf by the computational tool.  

IIT in association with Central Potato Research Institute Shimla used artificial technique (AI) to find diseased portion of the leaf. Healthy and diseased model of leaf were collected from Punjab, UP, and Himachal Pradesh in order to develop a robust model.
