India Holding Third- Position for Most- Represented Nation, in the ‘THE Asia University Ranking 2022’.

On Wednesday, The Times Higher Education (THE) released the new edition of the Asia University Ranking of the year 2022, in which 616 universities comprised from 31 countries and territories including India, which holds the third position for the most-represented country among 71 institutions.

In 2022, Bangalore’s Indian Institute of Science (IISc) became the only institute to hold the 42 ranks in the top 50 list. Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara (JSS) Academy of Higher Education and Research stands in 65th place, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar is in 68th. IIT Indore is at 87th rank; compared with last year’s data, all the Indian Institutes slipped down under the top-100 position.

Chief Knowledge Officers of THE, Phil Baty, said, “The new dataset shows the extraordinarily diverse range of excellence across the Asian continent and with 31 Asian nations/ regions making a list and bringing the successes from all corners of the continent. Asia has been the most exciting and dynamic continent for higher education, research, and innovation today.”
