Situated in Guwahati, Royal Global University (RGU) is a prominent educational hub of the North Eastern region. With an objective of spreading quality education in the country, Gyan Sagar Foundation (GSF) had set up Royal Group of Institutions (RGI) in 2009. Over the years, RGU bloomed to become the full-fledged Royal Global University in 2017, under The Assam Royal Global University Act, 2013, passed by the Government of Assam.

The 25 acre beautiful campus, with twenty schools and numerous academic programs, is designed to students’ involvement and triumph. Various leading media publication houses have recognized and awarded the university with several renowned awards such as National Assam Education Award 2014, University of the Year 2017 for Student Engagement and so on. Moreover, the university has been listed as No. 1 in the North-East Region in 2014. In the Best B schools’ Survey 2014 and 2015, it has been ranked A+ and A+++ respectively. In the year 2015, the university has been listed in Top 100 Engineering and Non-IIT Engineering Colleges in India.

Specialized Courses that Make Students Industry Ready

RGU offers 97+ courses at Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Dual Degree, Diploma and Ph.D. levels. It offers wide range of courses in various disciplines like Engineering, Technology, Business, Commerce, Arts, Fashion Designing, Architecture, Information Technology, Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Communications and Media, Hotel Management, and many more academic programs which are designed with innovative syllabi to provide the students with industry-specific learning.

The university offers cutting-edge and extraordinary academic programs in Commerce and Arts. The Royal School of Business offers B.B.A., M.B.A., Integrated four year B.B.A. and M.B.A. course, and M.A. in Public Administration that help the students to pursue careers in business and administration. Also, The Royal School of Commerce offers B.Com, M.Com, and B.Com for entrepreneurs; for self-employed and working candidates.

From Practicing Chartered Accountant to Educationist

Sri Pansari started his practice as a Chartered Accountant in 1988 in Guwahati under the name and style M/s Modi Pansari & Co, along with his childhood friend, Anil Modi. Over the years, having done well professionally, he decided to become a social entrepreneur and that too in education and related activities. He focused on providing quality education to the children of North East to stop the exodus from this region.

He, in association with some other people of the region, established Delhi Public School in the year 2003 at Ahomgaon, Guwahati, followed by Royal Group of Institutions, in 2009 (RGI). RGI turned out to be a premier institution in the North East imparting Engineering, Management, Commerce & Architecture courses with a vision to offer the best of technical/higher education in the region. Later, Sri Pansari came up with Royal Global School in 2012, a world class co-educational day-cum- boarding Higher Secondary school, first of its kind in the region.

Another feather to his cap was added with the start of Royal Global University in the year 2017, with 13 schools & 55 under-graduate & post graduate UGC recognized programmes offered under one roof to churn out responsible leaders to the society who will be capable of enriching the future by bringing positive transformation to the world.

Mr. Pansari, known to have made a revolution in education sector of the North-East, also started Royal Estate Developers in 2002 and successfully completed a number of projects. He has his own media house named Purvoday Publications Private Ltd. which started publishing Hindi daily “Dainik Purvoday’’ in 2005.

Mr. Pansari was not born with a silver spoon. He is a self-made man. He is a treasurer of “human values”, true in every sense of the term. The mantras of hard work, honesty and perfection have brought him success and achievement. However, nothing comes easy in life. He had to struggle very hard in life and profession as well, as he never took the short route to success by compromising on integrity, business and professional ethics. He strongly believes in togetherness and gives much of the credit for all these milestones to his childhood friend Anil Modi and considers that they are two wheels of a vehicle. Today, he is one of the leading lights of the state in letter and spirit. He is an ardent orator and a great motivator for the student community.

Unique Pedagogy and Activities for Skill Enhancement

At RGU, students are not only expected to be academically sound but also to be creative, confident, emotionally stable, physically strong and spiritually sound for successful academic achievement and career. In short, RGU believes in the holistic approach to learning that helps in ‘overall’ development of students. The university has various clubs and unique activities which help in 360-degree development of students.

The cultural club undertakes various programs for exploring the talents of the students and staff which add enthusiasm in daily routine. Helping Hands is a community club which has been working towards the betterment of society and where students participate in community development services. Sport is a key component in the process of personality development and helps to maintain physical fitness and good health. The Sports Club provides all the facilities and equipment for students, faculty, and staff to attain sporting excellence and to organize various sports activities.

Apart from the various clubs discussed above, the university has unique management and commerce clubs to help the students to earn real-world knowledge. FinAlyst-The Finance Club provides hands-on learning where esteemed personalities of the business world interact and share real world experiences with the students. Ethnos– the HR Club, helps students by providing exposure to industry experts, HR workshops, case discussions, live projects and group activities. The Maccokt-The Marketing Club aims at providing the student fraternity with the latest trends and strategies in the area of marketing. Royal Commerce Club conducts the operations for commerce students in respect of events, business games, and quizzes.

Scholarships to Reward the Talent

RGU has various financial aid programs that help students to meet their educational needs. These are: a) Royal Merit Scholarships, b) Royal Endowment and c) Monthly Scholarship to Semester Toppers.

In Royal Merit Scholarships, 100% to 25% scholarships on annual fee are available for qualified PG and UG students. Similarly, Royal Endowment offers 50% to 25% scholarships on annual fee to those who qualify. In Monthly Scholarship for Semester Toppers, each course is awarded with rupees three thousand per month for one semester to topper students.

Career Guidance and Placement Activities

Royal Centre for Corporate Relations (RCCR) ensures providing the finest opportunity for right placements to all students. The Centre is committed to attend to the individual needs of students and ensure to find desired platforms for launching students’ professional careers. The Centre strives to enhance students’ employability through intensive skill training programs, mock group discussions, training for online aptitude tests, and mock personal interviews. RGU has all necessary state-of-the-art facilities like air-conditioned conference and interview rooms, audio-visual equipment and computer labs for conducting successful recruitment processes.

RCCR provides career guidance and counseling that include interactive sessions with corporates, industrial visits, workshops, research paper presentations by the students and encourages their participation in management competitions. Internships are an important part of curricula, where students get chance to gain real world experience and explore the relevant information and skills required to enter into a specific career field. The Centre provides required guidance and support to students for their internships.
