We crossed paths with this amazing institute – Sanskar Educational Group (SEG) – that is grooming future engineers with excellence in education. This renowned college believes in making students responsible citizens and not just engineers.
Director of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Vinish Kumar, threw a light on various courses that the college provides and how it reached to its present stature.
The Beginning
Established in 2005, Sanskar Educational Group (SEG) spread over 20 acres of lush green campus under the aegis of Shree Ganpati Education Society, has carved a niche for itself just within a decade. Today it is considered a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for those aspiring to undertake higher studies in the domains of Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Management and Architecture.
“The institute has more than seven lakh square feet of built-up area, comprises of smart and air-conditioned classrooms, richly stocked library, state-of-the-art laboratories, on-hand project labs, auditorium, and seminar halls. There are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls,” informed Mr. Kumar.

“The college offers personality development/language enrichment classes from second year onwards, corporate exposure and life skills training, hands-on learning experience/live project assistance, internships, and 100% placement assistance,” shared Mr. Kumar.

The institute is headed by Mr. Kumar in the capacity of Director. He has more than 21 years of experience in teaching, and professional and research experience with more than 30 plus papers in leading international and national index journals/conferences. He also has one patent to his achievements. He is the member of various academic and administrative committees in leading institutes, member Board of Management for Technical Institution and also been an enlightening force to groom the students.
Hurdles in Creating the Niche
The success of the institute, however, came after the struggles they faced in the earlier days of its inception. “Initially, in spite of having state-ofthe-art infrastructure, the best faculty members were not interested to join our institute because it was new. But as we developed, flourished and established ourselves as an excellent centre of learning we were able to attract the best teaching force and at present the institute can boast of highly qualified and experienced faculty members.”
Right now, the biggest challenge for the institute is to groom students to become lifelong learners with the best of personality attributes. “However, the student’s first duty is to focus on academics,” emphasises Mr. Kumar.

Tech-savvy Environment
With the lockdowns due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and push towards EdTech implementation, the institute successfully adapted to the changing times. During the lockdown the institute began taking classes through various platforms like Zoom Meet, Google Meet, Microsoft Team and WebEx for students. “We have also established recording studios where live lectures of the faculty members are recorded and shared with the students along with the well-prepared digital content of theory and laboratories. Special online problem-solving sessions are held on weekly basis for each subject of study,” said Mr. Kumar.

In times to come, the institute aspires to be one of the leading technical institutes in the country and an undisputed leader in the North Region with Industry-Institute Partnership, Incubation Centre, and Entrepreneurship Skills Development Centre, with special focus on emerging technologies like, Cloud Computing, Simulation, Big Data Analytics, Robotics, Augmented and Virtual Reality etc. converging towards industrial revolution 4.0.”
