Schools in Wales (UK) are extending their School-day by an hour

To help their students in catching up for the schooldays lost to lockdown, 14 schools in Wales are extending their weekly schooldays by an hour. These fourteen primaries and secondaries will be allowed to do so on a trial basis by the Wales Government, which is going to invest £2m on this initiative.

These schools across South Wales will add 5 extra hours in a week and will be free to accommodate sessions on art, music, sports, and other extra-curricular activities.

The government is asking school leaders, parents, and children that if the trial is successful, can they make it permanent and extend the reforms to summer holidays as well by shortening them.
