On Sunday, the governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan visited Basar’s IIIT campus, communicated with the students, heard about the grievances and suggestions, and assured them that all the recommendations would be directed to the concerned authorities.

Also, the governor looked around the hostel, mess, library, and other campus facilities and noted the prevailing conditions. The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies students are known as IIIT Basar; in June, the students of the campus protested and put forth 12 demands, including filling up posts, appointing full-time Vice-Chancellor, and improving campus amenities.

Similarly, the students again protested in July when they were suspected of food poisoning. Yesterday, when the governor visited the campus and interacted with students individually and in the group, where they listened to the students patiently, the students spoke about the quality of the food in a mess, and no supply of laptops, and they also highlighted the non-availability of the latest subject books in the library.
