UK Government’s New Policy, Affordable School Uniforms
UK Government

New guidelines have been issued by the government to keep cost of school uniforms minimum and affordable to all families. Government as well as schools are acutely aware of the financial pressures put up by the Covid-19 pandemic. To combat it, the policy has been a welcome move, education unions said adding that schools are already working hard to make uniforms as affordable as possible for all the parents.

The government expected that schools will take measures to eliminate unnecessary burden of costly branded items, while allowing parents more choices, even options of second-hand items, to make sure that, each and family can afford it. The new guidance policy makes it statutory for schools to effectively implement this policy so that disadvantageous families will also encourage their children to go to the schools.
