The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday, 17th August announced that the government is planning to build a Sports University for the state. Expressing her love for the game of football, the Chief Minister, along with the announcement of a new sports university, also granted ₹50 lakhs for the infrastructure development of two prominent clubs of the state, the East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting.
Along with assuring the state’s aspiring sports professional dream, the CM further shared her love for the game of football. With the construction of this new university, the state aims to improve the sports infrastructure and make a mark.
CM Mamata Banerjee announced this in the city after officially opening the Raja Suresh Chandra Memorial Archive, an East Bengal museum, under its Maidan tent.
