The IIM Amritsar has recently rolled out a two-year Executive MBA programme for the working professionals and aims at inculcating leadership skills with strategic thought into navigating the high-speed modern world of business. The curriculum will cover volatile environments, data-driven decision-making, and leading through organizational and digital transformation.

This blended-learning EMBA underlines strength in analytics and agility. It underscores innovation, effective communication, and conflict resolution in the face of uncertain times. This curriculum is basically built to offer a framework that can be applied across all walks of professional life and will lay a good base for the professional careers.

IIM Amritsar comes at the right time. The global executive education market has grown at an alarming rate of 12.7% with a CAGR, and the future estimates will be USD 98.6 billion by 2030. Technological development, globalization, and the emerging need for changing leadership have influenced the growth in the market. The institute quotes the Future of Jobs Report 2023, which suggests that 23% of jobs will change within five years and will create 69 million new roles. This calls for upskilling in emotional intelligence, resilience, change management, and technological literacy. An Asia-Pacific CEO survey further underpins this need because 97 percent of CEOs say they are reframing their companies, and 75 percent will embrace change.

The EMBA program is open for professionals coming from different industries such as IT, HR, marketing, banking, finance, manufacturing, supply chain, consulting, and more. First-year students learn the basic management skills through entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, strategy, organizational behavior, and operations. For the advanced topics in security analysis, portfolio management, business intelligence, integrated field projects, and capstone simulations, this can be covered during the second year.

There are three on-campus immersions during the program. The core concepts of the education would include financial reporting, competition and strategy, consumer behavior, operations research, and business ethics, along with two electives selected based on individual learner profiles.
