“TH School aims to empower Vietnam’s future leaders to think critically, display empathy and act with integrity. Its vision is a network of schools in Vietnam that provides Vietnamese and International students with a high quality holistic bilingual education, preparing them for success in further education.”
Instituted by Madame Thái Hương in 2015, TH School provides an English based curriculum taught alongside a Vietnamese Studies program combining international curricula with essential elements of Vietnamese language, literature, culture and history. Madame Thái Hương is a successful businesswoman in Vietnam who over the past seven years has constructed a dairy empire that is now the largest dairy farm and processing center in Asia.
She established TH School with an endearing passion for education and a strong desire to change the educational paradigm in Vietnam. The school, which values a holistic approach to education, seeks to help students develop intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally. It immerses students in an educational community that develops core values of: happiness, gratitude, integrity, kindness, international mindedness, and pride in Vietnam.
The TH School curricular program combines a world class English language-based international curriculum with essential elements of Vietnamese language, literature, history and culture. TH Schools offer a dynamic student-center learning environment, state-of-the-art facilities and nutritious meals in a nurturing atmosphere of high expectations, support, and kindness. TH School’s curriculum encourages learners to engage with the world as global citizens, value international mindedness and appreciate diverse points of view.
TH School seeks to cultivate bilingualism focusing on English and Vietnamese language, as well as students’ abilities to work independently and collaboratively. The curriculum incorporates an 80/20 model. Students spend 80% of the school day in an English based international curriculum taught by expatriate teachers. The remaining 20% of the school day focuses on Vietnamese Studies taught in Vietnamese by host national teachers. All students in TH School study English and Vietnamese. Foreign students study Vietnamese as a language of acquisition while Vietnamese students study Vietnamese as mother tongue.
Regardless of curricular framework, students are challenged to think critically in order to make informed decisions. The educational program infuses a deep sense of service to others and an ingrained sense of responsibility to protect the rights of all people and the natural environment.
The flagship Chùa Bộc campus is located in Hanoi’s central business district. The Chùa Bộc campus opened its doors in mid-2016 with 45 enthusiastic scholars in grades 10 and 11. Two years later the Chùa Bộc campus enrolls over 400 students ranging in age from 24 months to 18 years. In August 2018, the school’s second campus in Hoà Lạc Hi-tech Park, located on the outskirts of Hanoi, opened its doors to boarding students from grade 6 to grade 12.
Visionary Leadership of TH School

Student-Centered Approach & Learning Methods
TH School’s Kindergarten program offers children dual-language learning with individual care and attention. The curriculum is planned around engaging themes from the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) with a focus on developing each child’s independence and interdependence, communication and language skills, capacity to explore and inquire, and ability to make healthy choices.
In Primary, TH School uses the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to ensure rigorous learning through exciting and globally relevant themes, linking literacy and numeracy to IPC topics, and tailoring the learning experience so that students can deepen their understanding of their own culture and identity, whilst also developing an increasingly international perspective.
Both Kindergarten and Primary divisions use the TH School 80/20 English-Vietnamese language model.
Grades 6 to 8 follow the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), an academically challenging program specifically designed to address the developmental needs of adolescents. The IMYC focuses on globally relevant themes such as communication, entrepreneurship, challenge, and responsibility. Special attention is paid to the development of students’ personal dispositions and values of international mindedness. Core subjects in Math, Science, Humanities, English, Literature, Music, Art and Physical Education are taught in English, whilst Vietnamese literature and culture and Vietnamese history, civics and geography are offered in Vietnamese. In concert with other academic divisions the TH School middle years program follows the 80/20 English-Vietnamese language model.
In grades 9 to 12, the TH School program offers a bespoke curriculum to Grades 9 and 10, which combines Cambridge International Exams (IGCSE) with school-based learning and a Vietnamese Studies program. Core bespoke and IGCSE courses in Science, Math, English, Literature, Humanities, Art, Music and Physical Education are taught in English. Additional courses in Vietnamese language, literature, history, geography and civics taught in Vietnamese. The school prepares Grade 11 and 12 students for postsecondary opportunities via the Cambridge International AS & A-Level programs. Students in Grades 11 and 12 currently take three A-Level subjects from options in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, Business and Travel and Tourism, as well as a selection of school-based bespoke courses in English Literature, Vietnamese Studies and Physical Education.
Following the TH School‘s language profile the high school program in grades 9 to 12 also utilizes the 80/20 English/Vietnamese language model.
Giving Technology the Upper Hand
TH School seeks to provide a safe, secure and academically stimulating learning environment focused on student inquiry, collaboration and personal development. The learning environment at TH School is nurturing, open, student-centered, student-led and academically challenging.
The school integrates technology directly into the classroom. Innovating with technology is emphasized across the curriculum and is supported with the assistance of a dedicated Technology Facilitator, who teaches secondary STEM and provides one-on-one assistance to support teachers in integrating technology into the classroom.
Teachers collaborate sharing technology tools during workshops called “Speed Geeking”. Speed Geeking provides an open platform for teachers to develop a greater understanding regarding the use and deployment of educationally appropriate software and applications. TH School has also empowered a group of student Digital Leaders to act as peer “technology integrators” promoting appropriate use of technology and good digital citizenship.
Co-Curricular Activities
TH School also runs a comprehensive program of co-curricular activities at every grade level to enhance learning and build valuable skills outside the classroom. These include but are not limited to activities in athletics, robotics, culinary science, music, visual arts, student government and digital citizenship.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
TH School believes in an inclusive approach. To be more accessible to all families, TH School offers generous scholarships. In addition Bac A Bank, a member of the TH Group and sister organization to TH School, offers the Dream School Financial Aid program with flexible loan terms and repayment plans. Additional scholarships are awarded to high achieving students at local, national and international levels in all major subject areas. Scholarship awards have ranged from 30–100% of full tuition and boarding fees.
Jewels of Success
TH School is proud to work with motivated high achieving students with diverse talents and skills. Since opening its doors to students in 2015, TH school has achieved many significant milestones. The most notable achievement has been substantial year-on-year growth in student enrolment. Beginning with 45 Grade 10 and 11 students in a temporary campus in August 2015 to the establishment of two modern purpose-built campuses now enrolling over 450 PreK to Grade 12 students in August 2018.
Even more impressive are the TH School students themselves. The first cohort of graduates finished their secondary studies in June 2018 with A Level certificates. Each graduate was accepted to the postsecondary opportunities of their choice with several students receiving substantial scholarships to universities worldwide. The second cohort of graduates is expected to finish their full A Level programs in June 2019. The Class of 2019 achieved outstanding AS results on their spring exams with over roughly 50% of students earning at least one A or A* and over 30% of all exams receiving a grade of A or A*. One student in the Class of 2019 received special recognition for “High Achievement” completing the two year Cambridge A Level Mathematics course in one year and also earning ‘Top Score in the Country’ on the Chemistry Cambridge AS exam.
