Scholarly Courses:
From your first day at Albany Law School, you will begin to learn to be a lawyer. The unique Introduction to Lawyering — a required first-year course that teaches you to think and perform as a lawyer — is only the beginning.
Albany Law School offers J.D. and LL.M. degrees, 15 concentrations and several dual degrees through accredited colleges and universities in the Capital Region and New York City.
Dual degree offerings include J.D./Master of Business Administration, J.D./Master of Public Administration, J.D./Master of Regional Planning, J.D./Master of Science in Bioethics and J.D./Master of Social Work
Albany Law School offers an advanced law degree program — the Master of Laws and Letters. LL.M. candidates may specialize in Advanced Legal Studies, Government Administration and Regulation, Health Law, Intellectual Property and International Law.
Other prominent courses are Master of Laws (LL.M.) for Foreign Law Graduates and Master of Science (M.S.) in Legal Studies.
President and Dean, Alicia Ouellette
Alicia Ouellette is the 18th President and Dean of Albany Law School. As Dean, she led the law school in the development, adoption, and implementation of a new strategic plan, led and consummated an institutional affiliation with the University at Albany, and has introduced to the Law School innovative educational programs.
“Albany Law has been dear to me for many decades. I have been involved with the law school in some way since I graduated, and I am deeply honored to be in a leadership role at this time in the institution’s history—the fourth oldest law school in the country,” says Alicia.
Albany Law’s Career Center:
A wide array of field placements, including internships through the Albany Law Clinic & Justice Center and the Government Law Center, provide students essential hands-on learning.
From the first week at school, Albany Law’s Career Center helps students to develop a career plan and support them throughout their job search. Professional career counselors help them define career goals, craft résumés and cover letters, prepare for interviews, and compare employment offers.
Their graduates find jobs in law firms, government agencies, public interest organizations, and business and industry throughout the country. About one third of Albany Law School graduates work in the New York City metropolitan area, with large groups of alumni in Boston; Washington, DC; and business centers along the eastern seaboard as far south as Florida.
Students have access to New York’s highest court, federal courts, and the state legislature, as well as to a thriving tech-based economy.
Student opportunities:
Coker College’s unique Trans4mations program guides students through a personalized four-year sequence of curricular and co-curricular experiences—including study abroad and study away trips, internships, research opportunities, cultural events, community service, and more. Coker College’s Center for Career Development & Internships offers students the opportunity to work with staff on professional development initiatives, resume-building, interview skills, graduate school application, internship placement, job-searching, and more.
Coker students are also encouraged to take part in academic internships, and/or to complete and present research alongside Coker faculty.

Albany Law School offers around 86 Endowed Scholarships and 11 Endowed Fellowships to aid learning and professional development.
