One such front runner leading women towards academic and career development is AIMAN College of Arts & Science for Women. Established in the year 2000, the college is situated at Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu. Under the aegis of the AIMAN Education and Welfare Society, the college focuses on providing higher education to the women belonging to religious minority and socially backward sections of the society.

The college is driven by the vision to look forward to generations ahead and have minds to equip the college with all the necessary infrastructure and facilities so that the nascent institution may blossom into a first-grade women’s college. The establishment of the AIMAN College realized the long- felt need and a long-cherished dream, for women especially the Muslim women in Tamilnadu.
The college offers standard higher education to female students in an ideal and serene atmosphere to bring out their latent and in-built talents without any inhibitions. Character building in the students happens to be the other thrust area of attention in the college and hostel. It regularly conducts moral and deeniyath classes for the upliftment of the students.
AIMAN College also encourages prayer and recitation of Al Qur’an among Muslim students. A beautiful mosque has been constructed adjoining the hostel for the purpose of promoting regular habit of offering prayers (Salah).
It employs eminent teachers with competency, professionalism, passion, devotion and dedication. The infinite support furnished by the management, has ignited the institution to grow with a remarkable legacy within a short span of time.
Excellent Infrastructural Facilities
AIMAN College ensures that students are provided with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities. It creates an ambience, where students can communicate, learn, grow, and thrive in academic and extra-curricular endeavours.
The green and placid campus consists of an administrative block and a 3-storey main block housing class rooms. It has a new block with mini seminar hall and computer laboratories. The college boasts of a magnificent Auditorium of 1000 capacity, a well stacked library, E-Resource centre and well equipped physics, Chemistry and Nutrition & Dietetics laboratories.
The college maintains a canteen in the campus for the benefit of the students and the staff and serving hygienic food, snack and beverages.
AIMAN College attracts students from several parts of the state. They are provided with a decent accommodation in the 2 blocks of hostels with clean and hygienic environment and modern cooking and dining facilities. A few air conditioned rooms are also available in one of the hostel blocks. The college enrolls 1150 students, out of which 600 reside in hostels.

The Erudite Leader
The person responsible for leading AIMAN College towards the heights of success is none other than Dr. Suhashini Ernest, the Principal. She is a retired Associate Professor in Physics. After pursuing M. Sc., M. Phil and PGDCA, she completed her Ph. D. She was the Head of Department of Physics for 4 years at Urumu Dhanalakshmi College, Trichy.
She also has an overseas teaching experience of two years in Nigeria. Her areas of research are Ultrasonics and Thin Film Physics. She has successfully guided four scholars towards their Ph.D degree, one in the field of Ultrasonics, and five in the field of Thin Film Physics.
Building Careers Efficiently
AIMAN College trains students to excel in different endeavours, while preparing them to achieve success in a career path of their choice. The ‘AIMAN Education and Welfare Society’ – Trichy in association with ‘AIMS Welfare Society’ worked together on a mission to train, educate, and prepare suitably the AIMAN graduates, final year students of the college, and other Muslim female graduates residing in and around Trichy to appear in Government Exams like TNPSC, SSC & RRB. Training classes are conducted by experts; study materials are provided to the selected candidates. Moreover, the college also conducts weekend tests and group discussions.
