Dr. J. Ramachandran is the Chancellor of AMET University. He is also the Founder and Chairman of NAESEY (New Era Association of Educated Self-Employed Youth). He came up with NAESEY in order to generate self-employment opportunities for the educated unemployed. In 2001, Dr. J. Ramachandran understood a systematic educational need in the field of Shipping and Logistics as he could foresee the future growth in trading and launched the unique sector-specific MBA Programme in Shipping & Logistics Management, which is the first of its kind in Asia. The University offers specialized MBA programme which is designed to equip students with adequate skills and knowledge in general management as well as in area of Marketing, Finance, Human Resources & Information Technology and added specialization in Shipping and Logistics areas. AMET Business School offers innovative BBA programme with shipping business, communication skills and computer skills.
