(ICFAI conducts interactive webinar session on “Building and Communicating a Public Image : Strategies for Working Professionals“)
Character, Ability and Purpose (CAP) determines the public image of any organization said Mr. L V Navaneeth, CEO – The Hindu Group Publishing Pvt. Ltd. He was delivering a talk at the 13th WiseViews Interactive webinar series conducted on Friday, July 16, 2021 by ICFAI Online for the benefit of prospective students and working professionals. He spoke on the topic “Building & Communicating a Public Image: Strategies for Working Professionals”.
Mr. Navaneeth has applied the CAP formula to the ICFAI and lauded for its contribution in nation building for over 30 yrs. He said consistency, credibility and clarity are some of the traits which help in building the public image.
Mr. Navaneeth further advised the students to be more proactive and should be alert to learn new things that come their way. “Telling the truth, admitting the mistakes, coming out of the comfort zones and working in teams helps to build a strong image that will last forever” he said. He explained how the leadership skills have changed over a period of time. In his pictorial representation, he mentioned about the transformation of I – shaped skills to T- shaped and then to Pi shaped form to the latest comb shaped form which is more prevalent currently.
Mr. Navaneeth also stressed that character is extremely important for an individual and ultimately it will reflect on the organization. “Character is all about self-discipline and the principles that an individual follow at all times irrespective of the situation he faces at different circumstances”, he said. “Each one of us has a public image and those who interact in public forum should be wary of their communication as it will have a direct impact on the reputation of the organization”, he added.
The webinar was moderated by Prof. R Prasad, Director – Academic Wing, ICFAI Group and Prof. Sudhakar Rao, Director – Branding, ICFAI Group.
