The West Virginia Department of Education’s program has received a $1.8 million grant from the federal government, to enhance psychological health awareness among youth and teach school staff to respond to it.
U.S. Sens. Shelley Moore Capito and Joe Manchin of West Virginia declared the award on Tuesday.
Joe Manchin said, “Raising awareness regarding psychological health and behavioral health issues is tremendously important, especially among young West Virginians”.
Shelley Moore Capito said, “As Covid-19 has highlighted how much essential these services are, we cannot ignore about West Virginia’s youth, who are open to difficult childhood experiences in their everyday lives.”
