The Fort Wayne Community Schools are looking to fill the positions of open teachers all over the district. Around 75 vacant positions are to be filled, which is 4% of the total teaching staff in the district. The FWCS is offering a flexible work schedule and bonus of $2500 per semester to the retired teachers, who are interested to return to the school.

The areas of demand are science, mathematics, and social education. Talent Acquisition and Retention Manager Kody Tinnel said, “The fact that our teacher numbers, in spite of the pandemic, in spite of some of the changes in addition to teaching staff, we are pretty confident about where we are this school year.”
