After successfully offering its School of Digital Marketing and the School Of Code to over 20,000 students, IIDE (Indian Institute of Digital Education) proudly presents a brand new course- School of Design. This six month program aims at teaching aspiring digital designers in making great designs that are put to work. The first batch will be offered at IIDE’s Andheri Campus starting 25th June 2019 for which admissions have already begun.
IIDE has seen its students successfully placed in eminent digital marketing agencies, and has come across a common requirement – the need to understand DESIGN and hence has rolled out its School of Design.
The vision with the School of Design is not to create designs that only look good but instead to create designs that work and help solve real life and business problems. This approach to design in turn empowers the designer to have a larger role in the marketing process.
The course is curated by Mr. Meherzad Karanjia, IIDE’s Chief Learning Officer, who started his design journey with Ebay and worked on designing one of the first ecommerce shopping carts in India. Even the first look of Quikr & Pepperfry were worked on by Meherzad. The School of Design faculty also consists of notable persons from the industry such as Akshay Gurnani, Urvi Shah, Parag Gandhi, Anish Raul and Sohil Karia.
The IIDE School of Design is divided into 3 stages. The first stage focuses on the basics where the students learns Sketching, the Role of Design, the important Design Elements and the Art of Referencing. This allows the student to build a strong understanding and base in design. The second stage helps the student explore their learnings in design and hence focuses on topics such as Design Thinking, Creating Layouts and Photography and they also learn the software they’ll need to get their vision to life.
And finally, the School of Design will also introduce its students to the world of User Experience (Function) and User Interface (Form) wherein one can learn to make websites and app layouts which are both user and search engine friendly. The course also has a module on Motion Graphics for one to be able to create visually stunning video content for today’s social media platforms.
This helps create designers in not only the field of UI and UX but also acts as a wholesum opportunity for someone looking to step into the field of design.
More importantly, students will have the opportunity of working on live projects / assignments while they learn. This helps implement the knowledge gained from the course for solving real client briefs.
