Jeppiaar Engineering College (JEC) is a prominent institute of Jeppiaar Educational Trust which was established on 15 August 2001. Inspiration behind JEC

JEC was established under the guidance of a visionary industrialist, educationalist, and a philanthropist late. Col.Dr. Jeppiaar. He had more than three decades of valuable experience in the technical education sector. He was the founder and chairman of this renowned institute which has been instrumental in transforming the lives of plenty of its graduates.

Dr. M. Regeena Jeppiaar, B.E, MBA, PhD took the reins after the demise of her father and with her sharpness and diligence she proved her mettle by transforming the college from its fledgling state to an institution to reckon with.

Courses Offered by JEC

Jeppiaar Engineering College offers full time graduate and postgraduate courses in various streams. Their programs are designed in such a fashion that instills the core ethos and skills required to face any challenges. The college offers Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Aeronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech Courses in Information Technology and Biotechnology. It also provides full time MBA, M.E and M.Tech programs in various disciplines.The college is affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Tamil Nadu.

Fostering Entrepreneurial Skills to Lead Tomorrow

This famous quote truly reflects the spirit of JEC in nurturing entrepreneurial skills among students. The college provides various platforms to its students to grasp the core ethos of entrepreneurship.

JEC in association with Anna University, Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Tamil Nadu and Wadhwani foundation, conducts free courses on entrepreneurship. These courses help the students to understand and take up the entrepreneurship in their life.

E-leader workshop, Enatra, business competition, NSIC sponsored Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme (EOP), Idea box event, Women Entrepreneurship program, skill development program, DST funded Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC), CII sponsored Orientation program are conducted to boost the entrepreneurial spirit among students. The result of these initiatives has transformed the lives of many of its students who are successfully enjoying their entrepreneurial journey.

B. Praveen Kumar, a 3rd year B.Tech Information Technology undergraduate started his own company Frozen Bae Private Limited at Chennai and further established his company as franchise model at Muthiammal Engineering College, Salem. He has offered skill training program to the Ethiraj College for women, Chennai as well.

Alongside, three groups of student’s start-up have also been identified as campus start up. The Jeppiaar Engineering College’s E- Cell is always committed to nurture student for entrepreneurial activities which can ultimately lead towards the growth of the nation.

Unique Facilities at JEC

The colleges provide soft skills training, digital library, sports academy, cultural festivals, various workshops and conferences, tech-fest, picnics, industrial visits, pep talks, power series talks and more for the holistic development of any student.

JEC is always in touch with many corporate power houses that assists JEC in designing training module as par with the industry standard. Wipro, Infosys, Amphisoft, Vista Mind, Innovative Services, T.I.M.E are some of the prominent companies which offers their valuable feedback in crafting a cutting edge academia to JEC for its students future success.

Financial Assistance to Talented Individuals 

Meritorious students of BC and MBC community whose family income comes under Rs. 50,000 annually, SC community students whose parental income are less than Rs. 60,000, JEC offers financial assistance to such students who have talent but cannot pursue higher education due to financial dearth. The college also provides Chief Minister’s Scholarship for undergraduate students with a score of over 1000 out of 1200 in +2 along with various Central and State Government Scholarships as per government regulations. Furthermore, the College encourages the students to get loans from various governments banks and other financial institutions. The first three toppers in each branch are also awarded scholarship after the completion of each semester examination.

International Collaboration

The college intends to promote the innovative use of technology in education and promote educational advances by international collaborations. JEC has collaboration with Nottingham Trent University which offers faculty exchange program and also provides scholarships to many of its students for their better career advancements.
