The Commencement
The origin of KITS dates back to the year 1986. Back in the year, it functioned as an Engineering College affiliated to the Bharathiyar University. Since then, it has grown rapidly after receiving Autonomy in October 1999. Later, it was conferred the Deemed to be University status in 2004.
Currently, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, a visionary, astute leader, and able administrator helm the Chancellor duties at the University. It is his leadership that has steered the institution to heights of excellence and national prominence.
Student Life at KITS

The course of Study at KITS
KITS is one of the few institutions where students can have their education right from primary level to Doctoral level Programs. As such, it offers a wide range of courses in Engineering, Agriculture, Business, Arts, Sciences, Optometry, Commerce, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, and Media.
Furthermore, Postgraduate Programs in basic sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Nanoscience and technology and Nanomediacal science are also offered. Additionally, the MBA is also counted as a flagship program of the institution. KITS also hosts programs in the domains of commerce such as B.Com with a specialization in Banking and Capital Markets and Specialization in Financial Technologies.
All Engineering and Management Programs are approved by AICTE and UGC. With the institution being NAAC accredited, the institute ranks among the top 100 institutions in NIRF Ranking.

For Research & Development to be on par with the global research fraternity, KITS has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Agriculture Research Organization (ARO), Government of Israel. From here, it facilitates cooperation in the fields of micro-irrigation, precision farming, biological control, plant biotechnology, food processing, and wastewater reuse.
