The Vimukthi Mission of the Kerala Excise Department is set to launch a project to channel student’s energies into creative pursuits of arts and sports, while also helping them improve their academic performance, in a major initiative to wean school children away from the growing scourge of alcohol, narcotics, and substance abuse.

The Vimukthi Mission will implement the ‘Unarvu’ project, which means ‘Awakening,’ in collaboration with the Parents and Teacher’s Groups of the affected schools, members of civic authorities and resident’s associations, as well as local shopkeepers.
