Spread across a sprawling mango meadow of over 27 acres in Karnataka, Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT) houses about eight undergraduate engineering curriculums specializing in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Science, Aeronautical and Architecture. The University also offers various post graduate disciplines in M Tech. ─ Structural Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Machine Design, Digital communication & Networking, and Computer Science & Engineering and Automotive Electronics. KLS GIT offers other interesting post-graduation disciplines like MCA and MBA, while offering 10 Research Centers, which is approved by VTU.
GIT, the flagship Institute of Karnatak Law Society, Belagavi, was incepted in 1979 and was named after the eminent industrialist and Philanthropist Late Mr. Rao Saheb Gogte.
Karnatak Law Society was started in 1939 by a group of Lawyers and Philanthropists. The Board of Management of this extraordinary organization comprises of a group of quality conscious professionals including Lawyers, Doctors, Engineers, Chartered Accountants and Entrepreneurs.
GIT shares the honor of sheltering over 4500 students, more than 300 qualified faculty with Masters and 80 Doctorates from the most prominent institutions of the world, and the nation including IITs NITs, IISc. Their work and contributions to the world has been highly appreciated by various Government agencies like UGC, AICTE and the Ministry of HRD for Research and Development Project. It has also helped GIT to receive funds of more than 100 lacs from such prominent Government organizations.

This renowned institute has already been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and is included under the Section 2(f) and 12(b) of UGC act 1956. KLS GIT is an Autonomous Institution and a permanent affiliate under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and it also carries the distinction of getting NBA Accreditation for the third time in succession for 2004, 2008 and 2015. The accredited programs of these curriculums have global acceptability and assurance about the quality of education. GIT is recognized as an A+ Grade institution by NAAC and the institution’s department of Architecture has also been approved by Council of Architecture (CoA).

Offers Financial Support to Needy Students

KLS GIT shows respect to the meritorious students through various form of fees waiver scheme as Full fee waiver for the K-CET Toppers with ranking less than 1000 and partial tuition fees waivers with ranking in the range of 1001-2000. The Institute lays their hand of help to the needy pupils through their various scholarship programs for students showing good performance in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. They have extended their help to provide financial support to students participating in various competitions, workshops in and abroad India.
Offers a Campus which Enhances Students to Excel in Multi-Disciplinary Curriculum

KLS GIT is one such institute which is always trying to be better on Research and innovation front. The institute always motivates its students to pursue Ph.D. and M.Sc. Along with academic and professional improvement of a student, GIT encourages both indoor and outdoor sports and offers well-equipped gym and extraordinary sports complex. The institute maintains a well-balanced culture within the campus by organizing various fests like Annual Tech Fest “Avalanche” and Annual Cultural Fest “AURA”.
Annual Tech Fest “Avalanche” was introduced with a motive to infuse the techniques of paper writing and presentations concerning different fields of engineering. It provides students a platform to showcase their talents in other technical events like Quiz, Debate, Robowar, Circuit debugging, Stick Mania, Blind Coding and many more. In the recent past, celebrities like Raghunath Mashelkar – an Indian chemical engineer and a former Director General of the Council of Scientific & Industrial ResearchChetan Bhagat – Famous writer, Pralhad Kakkar & Bharat Dabholkar – Famous Ad Gurus, Sourabh Shukla – Famous Bollywood and theatre actor were also present to encourage the students of the university. On the other hand, “AURA” is organized to encourage students to participate in Dance, Singing and fashion show, where celebrities like Krishnakumar Kunnath, Sunidhi Chauhan, Farhan Akthar, Shankar Mahadevan, Vishal & Shekhar, Amit Trivedi performed during their recent annual cultural fests.
Nowadays, for any student and their parents, placement seems to be the most important part of their course. KLS GIT has stamped its presence and credibility in the minds of the big Corporate MNCs, as one of the leading destinations for the sourcing the right candidates. The Training and Placement Cell puts inexorable efforts to improve the quality of students in all aspects like soft skills, technical aptitude and general aptitude. KLS GIT has maintained a well reputation in the placement section by placing 90 per cent student every year in the top notch global brands, corporates and MNCs like Amazon, Mercedes, Quest, TCS and BOSCH.
The institute offers a platform to the students who have innovative ideas through their incubation center. Their incubation and entrepreneurship center has been identified by the Government of Karnataka as KLS GIT is one of the nine institutes across Karnataka for setting New Age Incubation Network. Over the years, the Incubation Center of KLS GIT has become the most preferred designation for startups and reports suggest that currently, 10 startups are working in the campus. Within last two years, few projects of the center have already being patented and commercialized.
