New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology: Moulding the Leaders of Tomorrow
New Prince Shri Bhavani College

The world is all about the three ‘E’ of the word ENGINEERING – Evolution, Enthusiasm and Efficacy. The enthralling journey of mankind from wooden wheels to aeroplanes is not designed by science only, but by the artistry of human brain also. How did these brains think about creating something extraordinary? They just visualized the world from out-of-the-box vision. Over the course of time, many scientists emerged with their innovations, which transformed the human life.

Simultaneously, the revolutionary changes resulted into the advancement in education and many institutes established to deliver quality education to the students, making them all set to change the dynamics of the traditional thinking. One such institute is New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology, which aims to achieve academic excellence by delivering quality education. The institution owes its foundation to the bold and inspired vision of its Founder and Chairman Thiru. K. Loganathan. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Since then, it has come a long way. Today it has six undergraduate courses and two post graduate courses.

Brief About the Institute

Eight Centres of Excellence

The changing aspects of engineering and technology in India, needs more innovation and innovation starts with design. To facilitate this design thinking and entrepreneurship among the students, the institute has total of ‘Eight Centres of Excellence’ namely Oracle Workforce Development Centre, IBM Red Hat Linux Centre, PMKVY Skill Development Centre, Tech Super Hub – (AI, Data Science, IOT & Machine Learning), Intel Intelligent Systems Lab, Block Chain Technology and Cyber Securities, Ed Joy Robotics and Automation. Apart from the regular curriculum, the students are trained on all emerging technologies thereby making them industry-ready.

Eminent Leadership

Mr. L. Naveen Prasad, Vice Chairman of New Prince Shri Bhavani College of Engineering and Technology, completed his education in business administration and his M.S. in Loughborough University, Leicestershire, UK. He has emerged as an accomplished educationist with his astounding contribution to the expansion of the college by pioneering in the establishment of various centres of excellence.

Under his active guidance, the institution has signed MoUs with various industries, thereby establishing centres that enable students to learn industry-ready curriculum and advanced courses. This helps every student to become employable right after their graduation. He has travelled widely to familiarize himself with the educational systems and pedagogy as practiced world over besides having marked his presence at various international meets, forums, and delegations.

Walking on the Path

As a new institute, there were many obstacles in attracting core and mainstream companies for in-campus placement. But currently, the institute has overcome those hurdles and its students are regularly placed in mainstream IT and core companies.

The current challenge obviously is the pandemic situation the world is facing right now. But, under the able guidance and innovative techniques of Vice Chairman Mr. L. Naveen Prasad, the institute managed to tackle all challenges of online education by establishing most of its labs and courses online.

Highlighting the Excellence

The institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and is ISO 9001-2015 certified with active participation in NIRF, ARIIA, CII rankings, and awards. All faculties of the institute have published research articles in international journals and backed up by patents with their names.

The institution undertakes uplifting the surrounding villages in association with MHRD, Government of India under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme, and various other schemes of the central government are actively implemented.

Working Under the Shadow of Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic compelled the global and abrupt conversion of conventional face-to-face instruction to the online format in all educational institutes. The five pillars of high-quality online education are learning effectiveness, student satisfaction, faculty satisfaction, access, scale, and cost.

The institute is effectively working towards achieving optimum implementation of these pillars. The conventional pen and paper exams have given way to MCQs, group discussions, online assignments, one to one oral exams, etc.

Turning the Page

Going forward, the institute intends to focus on work-based learning, multidisciplinary programs and a dual emphasis on engineering design and self-reflection, to the extent permitted by the affiliating university. It is also focused on achieving autonomous status, which would help to design socially relevant and outward facing engineering curriculum.
