Next Academic Year, CBSE Will Return to a Single Board Exam Format

According to Ministry of Education sources, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to restore the pre-pandemic single-exam structure for the coming academic year, which means the Class X and XII board exams will not be broken into two parts.

The CBSE has established a split system with two terms for the 2021-22 academic year: Term-I exams were held in November-December last year, and Term-II exams are set to begin on April 26. It has been learned that the Term-II exams would be given additional weight.

The decision was made after the second wave of the Covid-19 outbreak forced the cancellation of board exams for the 2020-21 academic year. Previous tests, practical exams, and internal assessments were used to evaluate students.
