NIT Polytechnic: Empowering Youth with Technical Excellence

The institute is continuously striving to provide quality technical education along with the professional skills to the students, so as to make them more competent, employable and responsible citizen of future India.

One of the well-known institutes in Maharashtra region, NIT Polytechnic is prominent in providing quality technical education. It offers five diploma courses viz. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Computer Engineering with the total intake of 420 students. The institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi; Government of Maharashtra & Director of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai and affiliated with Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai.

NIT is located virtually in the heart of the country at Nagpur with the excellent rail, road & air connectivity. It is sprawling over 26 acres of lush greenery, and providing the right environment for the pursuit of academic excellence. The majestic college building is designed with a keen eye for detail, to offer the finest learning environment. This includes large, spacious, ergonomically designed classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, massive library with latest books & journals, a seminar hall, state-of-the-art IT center, large playground for sports activities an aesthetically designed cafeteria, workshop, staff rooms, etc. NIT is one of the ISO 9001 – 2008 certified and had excellent very good grades in the branches offered and awarded by MSBTE, Mumbai. Institute which has the excellent academic result and has assisted 100 % placement since the year of its establishment in 2009. Institute has applied for National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and expecting NBA accreditation to all branches by April- May 2019.

The Moralistic Chairman of NIT Polytechnic

Anil Deshmukh is the President of Shri Sai Shikshan Santha NIT Polytechnic. He is the Former Cabinet Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra. While sharing his view about the institute’s success, Anil asserts,—“I think reclines in the all-embracing growth of student’s personality which is built through the various co-curricular and social activities undertaken in the institute. As education is the basis of all progress, NIT has started to provide exposure of technical education not only for the urban students but also for students from rural and economical back background. The entire purpose of education is not to restrict itself by imparting bookish knowledge but inculcate to all humanitarian values like wisdom, compassion, courage, humility, integrity, and reliability in a student. 

Accomplished Alumnus

The institute keeps regular interaction with its alumnus. Some of the alumni of NIT Polytechnics are, Akshay Tajane, is a Computer Engineer, working in Yalamanchilli Software, Nagpur. Namrata Gajbhiye is working in TAL Manufacturing & Solutions, Nagpur. Vaishali Dhote is an Electronics Engineer, working in Hitachi Automotive, Chennai. Kunal Dakaha is an Electrical Engineer, working in Wind World India. Vaibhav Burde is a Civil Engineer, working in G N Nikam Construction.

Career Opportunities and Major Accomplishments

The institute has crossed several milestones to gain the faith of its external and internal stakeholders in teaching learning process right from its establishment. In order to promote an industry acceptable education, the key focus has been on the faculty development, providing continuous teacher training in order to deliver real value education and excellence in academics. Teachers are trained not only to teach well but are also expected to inspire confidence and trust in their students and become role models. Additionally, NIT also inculcates the importance of tradition into the student’s minds and ensures discipline and good manners.

However, there is a compulsory internship conducted for all the NITians with Industrial Visit, Guest Lecture, Aptitude Classes, Communication Classes, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Mock Interview, and Online Training. Likewise PLC SCADA, PHP, MATLAB, Ardino, Ethical hacking, Python, Android, Auto CAD, Two wheeler Maintenance training are also conducted from time to time. It has signed MOU with different firms like Indo German Tool Room, Studenting Era, and MCED, IT Network, and Prolific software.

In the recent years Mahindra & Mahindra, John Deere, Dhoot Transmission, Cojeme Precision, Sujan Cooper, Ekta Telecommunication, Yalamanchili software, Devgiri Forgings, MWS Infrastructure, American Axle, Tal Manufacturing and Solutions, Rothe Erde, Esab India Pvt Ltd, Hitachi Automotive, Minda Corporation, Ronch Polymers Pvt Ltd, Rinder India, CEAT Tyres, Balajee Group, Faurecia Emission, Wind world India, and many more companies have successfully conducted campus placement drive at NIT Polytechnic. Placement department provides industrial exposure to students by providing them Summer Vocation Training in nearby industries and also provide in-house training in summer vacation. It also adapts the social responsibilities and does active participation in social programs; besides it is also a part of Central Government Programs.
