Nitte Mahalinga Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology (NMAMIT) is an autonomous engineering college situated in Nitte, Karnataka. Established in 1986, the institute offers courses in computer science and engineering, bio-technology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, information science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and electrical and electronics engineering. The college is run by the Nitte Education Trust, under the Presidentship of N Vinaya Hegde. He aims to connect and transform the potential of individuals across the diverse spectrum.

The college offers an ideal environment where students can explore, learn, and thrive in educational endeavors. Spread across an area of 11 lakhs sq. ft., it houses classrooms, laboratories, research centers, and other academic amenities in seven different buildings. NMAMIT is equipped with over 100 classrooms, 9 tutorial rooms, 66 laboratories, 2 workshops, 1 open air auditorium, 5 AC Auditoriums/seminar halls, 300 staff cabins, 1500 computers, and other basic facilities for the day-to-day activities.

Tech.) programs in Computer Networking, Computer Science and Engineering, Construction Technology, Digital Electronics & Communication, Energy Systems, Industrial biotechnology, Machine Design, Power Electronics, Software Engineering, Structural Engineering, and VLSI Design & Embedded Systems. Additionally, it offers a 3 years MCA course and a 2 years MBA course in the campus.
NMAMIT offers research programs in various disciplines like Biotechnology, Civil, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Business Administration.
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering employs well qualified teaching faculty with rich research, teaching, and industrial experience. The department regularly conducts audit courses and special courses on advanced topics to bridge the gap between the curriculum and the need of the industry. Additionally, it also offers M. Tech programs in Computer Science & Engineering and in Software Engineering (Autonomous under VTU) from the academic year 2003-04 and 2015-16, respectively.

The person responsible for the success of NMAMIT is Shri. N Vinaya Hegde, the Chancellor of Nitte Deemed University. He is the President of Nitte Education Trust and Chairman of Lamina Group of Companies. Vinaya has been working towards the development of the institute since the very first day. Being the backbone of the institute, he manages overall activity of the campus. He coordinates with Principal and Registrar of the campus for smooth running of the administrative work, and has given them internal autonomy for taking right decisions. Vinaya is the recipient of several laurels including Udyoga Pathra Award from Institute of Trade and Industrial Development, New Delhi (1980); Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry Award (1999); Outstanding Manager of D.K. & Udupi districts Award (1999), and so on.

NMAMIT has also developed active MOUs for research with Penn State University USA, Mekerere University Uganda, Erasmus University Netherlands, Ritsumeikan University Japan, and National University of Singapore. It is also recognized as a nodal center for distance learning programs for the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO, Dehradun.
Sculpting Careers
The college’s Department of Counseling, Student Welfare, Training & Placement aims at transforming students into a cheerful, healthy, articulate, and universal citizens who are eminently employable. They have conducted successful campus recruitment drives, during which many students were recruited by renowned companies. During the year 2017-18, 70 companies have offered a total of 660 selections and 12 internships. The department has excellent placement track record in reputed industries with an average of 80–85% placement of eligible students over the years. Over 150 companies assist them by providing an industrial exposure/internship to the students. A sizeable number of the students pursue higher studies and prepare for it while on the campus.
