At People’s University the Faculty grooms creative minds to face the challenges of developing society and its concerns by working on projects and find solutions to issues which seem without a solution. People’s University was conferred as India’s Best University for promoting Research in July 2018. People’s University was established by the Madhya Pradesh legislature through an amendment in Madhya Pradesh Niji Vishwavidyalaya (Sthapana Avam Sanchalan) Adhiniyam-2007 as Madhya Pradesh Act (No.18 of 2011) – People’s University, Bhopal as a state Private University and is empowered to award degrees as specified by UGC under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 through its main campus in regular mode with the approval of statutory bodies/councils, wherever required. It is an ISO certified NAAC accredited university.

Faculty of Engineering

People’s University School of Research & Technology (SORT) was established in 2007. The environment of the institute is highly conducive for building strong foundation of knowledge personality and enhancement of creativity through innovation & motivation. Institute has well equipped modern laboratories, a well stocked library, computer networks and fully wi-fi campus. The core strength of the institute lies in its pedagogy which includes conceptual teaching, projects, presentation and workshops. SORT believes that teaching has to be an optimal blend of theory and practical. The institute believes in absolute discipline and ensures that an example is set for the student by the institute itself. It is ensured that classes are held on time and syllabus is completed. SORT also believes in training the students to be the corporate leaders of tomorrow with perceptive skills, deep rooted fundamentals and an ethical approach. SORT offers full time, four years B.Tech Degree, Three years Diploma & Two Year M.Tech courses in following disciplines:

Tech. (CS/IT) in Association with IBM in Cloud Computing & Virtualization Technologies, Business Analytics & Optimization, Open Source and Open Standards Technologies; IBM courses are run for Engineering graduates.

People’s University Constituent Institutes:

The Nine Constituent Institutes of People’s University are already recognized /approved by concerned Statutory Bodies/Councils like MCI/DCI/INC/PCI/AICTE & MP State Paramedical Council. The degree of Ph.D. is awarded in various subjects of the following faculties: Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Management, Nursing, & Pharmacy. Centre for Scientific Research and Development inaugurated by erstwhile President of India Pratibha Patil is providing research opportunities to the budding scholars. Eligibility and syllabus for the courses is as per the prescribed norms of respective regulatory bodies /UGC and published ordinances of the People’s University. Ayurveda and Super Speciality Hospitals are also rendering tender care to the society.

The Campus Facilities:

The People’s University campus is spread over 69.19 acres in Bhopal. It is credited to be Central India’s largest single-campus University. Environment-friendly campus is home to several architecturally striking buildings where every need of staff and students is met. Tree-lined avenues and lush lawns dotted with beautiful flowering shrubs soothe the eye and create an ideal learning ambiance. People’s University is one of the few Indian universities, with state-of-the-art computing resources and network across the campus. University extends and facilitates Scholarship and Financial Aid Scheme for the students taking admission at People’s University.

The libraries in each constituent unit houses a rich collection of text and reference books, journals, magazines, audio/videos, CD-ROMs, research reports and Digital Library etc. in all areas and branches of study in all disciplines. Book Bank facility is provided to student for exploring their knowledge. Digital Library enables the students and staff to search the availability, request and reserve various books and other reference material available in the libraries at the comfort of their houses. LCD projectors, Desk Top etc are attached in classes. The University Auditoriums are centrally air-conditioned with a fully sound proof set up and equipped with latest technology for all types of audio/video presentations. A number of small digital auditoriums are also available for seminars, meetings, workshops etc. We have our own stadium with facilities for games like Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Hockey and Cricket. People’s University regularly conducts Intra and Inter College tournaments for respective games. It has fully functional department headed by Sports Officer to look after the sports activities. The University has Independent Boys and Girls NCC Battalion. It has also fully functional NSS Unit with multiple social causes to its credit. Central multi-facility piece of equipment in People’s University gymnasium enables several enthusiasts to work out. It is spacious and state-of-the art gym well equipped with modern facilities. Qualified gym instructors are available to train students. The University has Medical/Dental Hospital which provides free Medical/Dental facilities to students and employees of University. A branch of the Central Bank of India with its ATM operates in the Campus. Postal Services are provided by branch of Indian Postal Service, Restaurants, Snacks Corner, Beauty Saloon, Guest House, Staff Quarters, Hostels, Standby power supply; Fire Station and Photocopy Shop are located within the Campus.

A man with incredible business acumen; he propelled his capabilities and established himself as a successful leading businessman in Bhopal partnering business relationships with the most affluent business houses in India and abroad.

Shir. Suresh N. Vijaywargia formed a charitable non-profitable public trust ‘Sarvajanik Jankalyan Parmarthik Nyas’ with the prime objective of “Nurturing Humanity through Health and Educational Excellence”. People’s University journey began with this objective when SJPN decided to establish educational institutes as centre for excellence.

Dr.Rajesh Kapur Scientist and a former Senior Adviser to Government of India has widely traveled and has been a member of various Inter-Governmental committees with active participantion in FAO-WHO meetings in India and abroad. He has been a member of the Governing Council and Scientific Advisory Committees/Research Councils of DBT and CSIR Institutions.
