Rathi Learning Space is a design institute started in 2004 bringing tailor made courses in interior design to bridge the industry and academic gap. The courses offered are meticulously structured by eminent designers and gradually develop from imparting formal techniques to instill in students imagination, creativity and skills necessary for the speedily changing professional environment. This in turn, enables the students to become independent thinkers, planners and designers capable of detailed execution.

A diligent personality Mr. B.H. Rathi is the Founder of Rathi Learning Space. His passion over design and his inclination towards sharing knowledge has branched out into RLS, a platform for the budding Interior Designers. He continues to work meticulously in teaching at RLS to extend his boundless knowledge and extensive experience with students. In his professional journey, he has been recognized with a number of awards in India as well as abroad and is renowned for his achievements. He has been honored for excellence in Architecture in Houston (USA) and has received a lifetime achievement award for his contribution in the interior field by IIID. He is well known for his contributions and is on the board of a number of companies related with the construction industry.

Rathi Learning Space consists of highly qualified professionals ensuring that educational programme remains according to the on-going momentum and as per current industry standards. The three programmes offered at the school are Diploma in Interior design – duration – One year, Advanced diploma in Interior design – duration- Two years, and Graduate diploma in Interior design – duration -Three years. These programmes encourage experimentation and innovation and are structured meticulously to ensure progression from one grade to another.

Promoting Creativity in Design

At Rathi Learning Space, there are regular presentations conducted by faculty to foster new ideas, concepts and comprehensive understanding of the projects undertaken by the students. The student’s initial step includes researching for the design; the teachers then tutor the respective groups based on the research done and direct them to more independent thinking format. RLS motivates curiosity, divergent and out of the box thinking and encourages brainstorming to improve and promote creative design skills among students.  RLS has taken effective initiative known as Foundational Fridays – The more you see the more you learn. In this unique initiative, students are taken around the town to experience some of the best interior projects, vender outlets, workshops and presentations which act as a platform to learn and apply the same in the studio program.

Excellent Career Opportunities and Exposures

At RLS, students are given proper exposure to work on live projects and take up challenges and find practical solutions which is beyond classroom training. This gives them the confidence to think and act independently. RLS students have been placed in some of the leading design firms of Bangalore and are now being offered confirmed placements at leading architectural and interior design firms. One of the highly accomplished alumni of the institute is Seema, who has made the institute proud by her accomplishments. She has marked her name successfully in the design fraternity and is currently based in Dubai.

Winning Prestigious Honors

The students of RLS have received the Society Interiors awards and Pidilite award for excellence. The institute has secured the second position in interior design competition held during Panache 2018 and in mobile phone contest held in Bangalore School of Design in 2018.

RLS organizes Panache – a technical symposium for students belonging to interior design, fashion design and jewelry design disciplines. Here students of various colleges in and around Bangalore participate and illustrate their talents.
