Skyline University College (SUC) was established in 1990 in Sharjah, a city that has been recognized as a hub for education, culture and heritage by UNESCO. SUC was established under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, a member of the UAE Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah. H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi has always supported SUC in its pursuit to offer high-quality education. The campus is spread over 40 acres of land with all modern infrastructure facilities in the University city of Sharjah.
Mr. Kamal Puri, the founder president along with Mr. Nitin Anand, the Executive Director of Skyline International Group and Executive Director and Chair of the Executive Council of Skyline University College, worked for Skyline’s growth and expansion. With the goal of bringing the International standards of Skyline to the shores of Nigeria, Skyline Group opened Skyline University Nigeria in 2018.
To deliver the highest standards of education, Skyline employs faculty members with years of experience in their fields and diverse international qualifications. Skyline has a strong focus on multiculturalism with faculty and staff from 24 nationalities; it student body is composed of 65 nationalities. This diverse community creates a learning environment that prepares students for the global workplace and instills in them the value of tolerance and respect.
Skyline’s vision is to be a globally renowned university that nurtures the spirit of innovation and creativity through an Imaginative, Enterprising, and Techno-Creative Approach to education. The curriculum is continuously updated and the latest teaching methodologies are employed to keep pace with the ever-evolving technological advancement in society.
All the efforts of the Skyline community have paid off as the university has graduated over 10,000 alumni who are now working as leaders in various industries including IT, Tourism, Finance, and Business, among others. Recently, Skyline has been recognized by Forbes Magazine, during the Higher Education Awards 2019, as the Best Business School in UAE.
SUC offers various programs in Business and Information Technology which are fully-approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education (MOE), UAE.
Under the School of Business, it offers Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Tourism & Hospitality Management, Information Systems, International Business, Marketing & Retail Management, Accounting & Finance, Public Administration, Human Resource Management & Psychology and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. It offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Emphasis in International Business & Marketing, Finance, Strategic Human Resource Management, Strategic Management & Leadership, E-governance, Sustainable Development, and Project Management. Under its School of Information Technology, Skyline offers Bachelor of Science in Information Technology – Enterprise Computing program.
Aside from its undergraduate and graduate programs, Skyline offers professional certification courses and degrees through Globally Certified bodies such as IATA, UFFTA, ACCA & CTH, CISCO, Microsoft, and so on.
It has always been the goal of Founder President Mr. Puri to make quality education accessible to everyone regardless of the nationality, gender, religion, and financial status. This is why Skyline continues to strengthen its partnerships with various organizations. It has established strategic partnerships with government offices, corporates, consulates, communities, and schools and offers merit-based scholarships.
Skyline University College encourages students to be active in a variety of competitions and other activities to nurture their entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and skills. The faculty provide support and training to help students excel in these events. Recently, a group of Skyline students won the Dubai Financial Markets (DFM) Stock Game Competition. Skyline was declared the Best Educational Institution in the DFM Stock Game Competition which was held from April 15th to April 25th, 2019. This success is typical of our students who also had the most number of winners amongst the 30 participating universities at the DFM competition.
The university, through the Skyline Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (SEIC), which was established in 2013 to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the Skyline community, has been organizing the annual Business Plan and New Idea Competition for several years. The event is a platform to identify innovative business ideas and enable students to develop their understanding and ability to conceive a business start-up. During the event, several groups of students get to present their competing innovative marketing and business ideas.
To expose students to the professional world, the faculty members also regularly invite entrepreneurs, CEOs, industry leaders, and alumni to share their insights so students can prepare for the global workplace.
