With an academic heritage of 29 years, the institution is fulfilling the holistic educational needs required for the empowerment of women. The institution stands tall with 330 University ranks including 42 gold medals. The college produces remarkable results with a pass percentage of 98 consistently. The institute is ranked one among the Top 50 Best Colleges (BBA and BCA Stream) and also one among the Top 100 Best Colleges (Science and Commerce Stream) in the India Today- MDRA Survey 2019. Students of the college have bagged the ERB Shanmugasundaram Award for the First Rank in B, Sc. (Biochemistry) for Seven Consecutive Years. These are just a few of the recognition under its name.
At the Helm of Affairs
Enabling the teachers, students and the entire community of the school to achieve the above-mentioned recognition and going beyond is Dr.K.Chitra, the Principal of the institution. She has over two and half decades of academic experience in administration, teaching, research, and consultancy. She has presented/published more than 50 research papers in the National and International Conferences including those conducted at New York, Singapore, and Malaysia. She is a member of the review panel for National and International Journals.
Apart from these, she also contributes as a member of the Board of studies of reputed institutions. She is certified as the ‘Accredited Management Teacher’ by the All India Management Association. She is presently guiding research scholars leading to a Ph.D. degree in Bharathiar University. She plays an active role as a governing body member in various professional associations.

The quote, “If you educate a woman, you educate a family, if you educate a girl, you educate the future” lies at the heart of the institution. Hence, it takes every plausible method to ensure that the students who graduate from here are enabled to lead a change in society. The students here are physically, financially and psychologically empowered. A day at SRCW begins with yoga sessions and sports activities. This ensures that the students here are physically strong and also healthy. Scholarships are offered to meritorious students who excel in academics and sports.
Following this, the institute has also initiated an ‘Earn-while-you-learn program’. This program aims to ensure that students attain the necessary practical skills and also learn to be financially independent.
