Located in the vicinity of Butibori industrial area, Nagpur, Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology (TGPCET) second shift polytechnic was established in the year 2013 by Vidarbha Bahu-uddeshiya Shikshan Sanstha (VBSS). The college is affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE), Mumbai and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Additionally, it has also received the approval from Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai, Maharashtra.
Brilliant Educational Facilities
The college offers three years diploma programs in four disciplines of Diploma namely Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), and Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The dedicated faculty of the institute focuses on imparting quality technical education to the students, who aim to attain a diploma in engineering. The versatile staff has rich experience in teaching, research, and industry. They foster quality education to students of all sections of the society and aim to build high moral standards.
TGPCET train students in the domain of latest scientific and technological areas by introducing ATMEL, Robotics, CNC machining, and embedded programs for enhancing inter disciplinary research fields. It works towards excellence in imparting quality technical education by motivating students to become a trend-setter to acquire global leadership. For implementing the quality policy, an action plan is collectively prepared by the Principal and HoDs as per the vision of the management. It regularly interacts with the Principal to review the implementation process of the quality plans.
The Eminent Personality behind TGPCET
Dr. Mohan Gaikwad-Patil is the Chairman of Gaikwad-Patil Group of Institutions (GPGI). With more than twenty years of experience in education system to his credit, he established the group in Nagpur to cater to the education needs of the youth in Vidarbha. With an ocean of experience in teaching in an engineering college, he became acutely aware of the dissonance between engineering education in the country and industry requirements. As a result, he established two engineering colleges, well known in the region for their constant striving to impart quality and industry-relevant education to their students. Dr. Gaikwad is the young and dynamic face of the group with contagious enthusiasm and unflagging drive to succeed.
Financial Assistance
TGPCET helps the students financially under various special schemes in addition to government scholarships, It offers AKASH scholarship, which is provided by Vidarbha Bahuudeshiya Shikshan Sanstha to all the meritorious and economically weak students.
Under the Samaj Kalyan scheme, students from all reserved categories can avail this scholarship (fee reimbursement) in terms of finance. Moreover, students can also avail minority scholarships and EBC is offered to all the Maharashtra domiciled candidates.
Career Development Endeavors
GPGI in association with Butibori Manufacturers’ Association (BMA) and M.I.D.C Industries Association (MIA) annually conducts a job fair for ITI, diploma, and engineering passed out graduates and current candidates under the banner of “PRAYAS”.
This fair witnesses maximum participation of companies from local Butibori MIDC and Hingna MIDC. Every year, the group successfully generates 300+ vacancies. More than 30 companies participate each year and around 1200 candidates register for the event to attain respectable jobs.
Since the last 5 years, GPGI has been providing a platform free of cost, to the aspirants of Vidharbha region to showcase their skills. More than 1100 students from ITI/Diploma/engineering have benefited through this program.
This year, 3500 candidates registered for the job fair, wherein 31 companies have participated from different cities and total of 750 candidates have been selected in a single day. The college achieved a new milestone for placing these many students without any cost in a single day for any college in Maharshtra. The institute prepares the students for campus recruitment. It also conducts sessions on aptitude test, technical training, and group discussion.
Honors and Accolades
The institute has achieved many milestones throughout its illustrious journey of attaining educational excellence. ABP News honored TGPCET with the Award “An Outstanding Institute (West)” in the year 2015. It also got feather in the cap in academics by receiving an Award from Big Research as “A Most Promising Engineering College” in the Vidarbha Region of Maharashtra in the year 2012.
Beyond the Curriculum
TGPCET not only provides exceptional educational facilities, but also conducts a plethora of vibrant activities, which ensure the overall development of the students. Annually, the college organizes numerous events and workshops like AKASH, wherein it conducts technical workshops, paper presentation, and career guidance seminar for SSC Students. It also conducts Technofest, a national level project competition for diploma candidates, where they get a chance to present their innovative ideas and award the best projects. It also conducts various other sports events and annual gatherings.
