The University Grants Commission (UGC) recently announced that the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for undergraduate admission will not be implemented from 2021-22 academic session in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

It was previously announced by the Ministry of Education that the admission to universities will be based on a common entrance test.

A committee was constituted by the Union Ministry of Education to look into the procedure for the CUCET admissions for all undergraduate courses at central universities as suggested under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
