Vivekanandha College of Technology for Women (VCTW) does the same with an ambition to develop a better civil society, with the women empowerment. Being the largest women institution in Asia, the institute was established in the year 2009 with the objective to extend the frontiers of professional knowledge to rural women students and to empower them with the power of knowledge. Situated in the earliest and extraordinary district of Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, this institution is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

VCTW is under the command of an untiring work of a philanthropist, a living legend, and recipient of Vidhya Rattan, Rashtriya Rattan, Hind Rattan, and Kongunattu Sathanaiyalar, Professor Dr. M. Karunanithi. He was bestowed with such greatness for his sincere and committed work for the successful enhancement of women and empowerment in different educational genres. Being the Chairman and Secretary, his vision and mission is to foster all the women development in all their walks of life. He is a versatile person and a pioneer in women empowerment and a role model to all the young minds. He is a man of wisdom who paves the right path for thousands and thousands of women students.
Tailor-Made Facilities for the Students
The college provides state-of-the-art infrastructure for the proper welfare of the women students. VCTW’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering has an excellent infrastructure in terms of laboratories, classroom, seminar hall, etc. Laboratories are networked with seamless Wi-Fi internet facility connectivity with the speed of 50Mbps. The Special Interest Group is formed in Open Source Systems, Network, and Security, IoT and Data Mining which provides a wider platform for the faculty and students to explore their technical skills in their relevant interest area. The membership activities in professional bodies like CSI, ISTE, IET, ICTACT thrives the students to participate in various state and national level technical events.
The college provides ICT enabled teaching aids and advanced machinery for better student learning as well for research/consultancy services. It has Anna University Chennai syllabus, regulations and examination system for the students. Grand auditorium with a seating capacity of five-thousand, air-conditioned seminar hall, adequate sports infrastructure, IAS coaching center, beauty parlor, typewriting, driving and stitching classes, gym facilities, fully furnished hostel facilities and more, which the college provides for the holistic development of its students. Management provides the free transport covering eight districts and hundred and fifty kilometers, facility for women students as well.
The college operates a fleet of buses, vans, numbering more than two-hundred for easy mobility of the women students from different parts of the districts. Vivekanandha educational institutions additionally own Vivekanandha Medical Care Hospital, which is 150 bedded multi-specialty hospitals that are mainly established for the welfare of the women students’ studying across the entire institution.
For financially disadvantaged students, the management offers a scholarship of around three crores through Ariviuthiran. Also, seventy-five to ninety lakhs rupees every year, which includes free transport and free hostel accommodation. Special scholarships are given to differently-abled students, sports students, and underprivileged students in terms of fee waivers.

The college provides coaching classes for various competitive exams including PSC, Bank examinations, UPSC, SSC, and so on. Through Career Guidance Cell, Higher Education cell, Industry Institute Interaction cell, and Placement Cell, the students are getting necessary exposure. In addition, students get industrial training through PALs program. Excellent placement record with prolific procurement ensures that more than ninety percent students get placed in Tier-I companies including HCL, Wipro, Cognizant, TCS and more. MoU has been signed with IBM and Australian University Ironwood for higher education.
