According to a government official, the World Bank has approved Rs 2,460 crore to upgrade the infrastructure and educational standards in schools in Chhattisgarh. The funding will benefit approximately 4 million impoverished pupils. According to him, the financing also aims to promote scientific and business education at the upper secondary level. According to a representative from the public relations department, the Chhattisgarh Accelerated Learning for a Knowledge Economy Operation (CHALK) project will assist close to 40 lakh children from the less fortunate and poorer segments of society.

The Chhattisgarh government has opened Swami Atmanand English and Hindi Medium Schools across the state to offer youngsters from poor communities a top-notch education. He revealed that the project will assist in creating and running 600 model schools for students in grades 1 through 12. The CHALK initiative was started to increase access to education across all grade levels and to respond to the rising demand for scientific and business subjects at the senior secondary level. As per the project, schools in rural areas would receive living facilities for both students and staff.

This project used money approved by the World Bank to provide housing, increase student enrollment rates, enhance educational quality, and promote science and commerce education in the state’s secondary schools. He revealed that, the endeavor will aid in making up for the knowledge lost during COVID-19. The project scope which will also improve job prospects in Chhattisgarh’s “fast-growing manufacturing and service sectors,” teachers will receive training on how to make classroom sessions interesting for pupils to learn and engaging.
