Bhopal, April 8, 2019: Sagar Institute of Science and Technology Department of Electronics & Communication began its state level short term training programme on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) 5G  Massive Multiple-Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Communication Technologies at its Gandhi Nagar campus. The training was sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) under TEQIP-III. The three day training programme was inaugurated by chief guest   Shri. A.K. Pandey, Principal General Manager (PGM), BSNL in presence of Dr. Saif Khan Mohammad, Prof & In-charge first 5G Lab in India, IIT Delhi, Principal SISTec – Dr. Keshavendra Choudhary, Dr. Swati Saxena – Vice Principal SISTec, Shri B.S. Kushwah – Sr. Administrator SISTec, Dr. Paresh Rawat, HoD Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The training programme focused on the latest wireless technologies which forms the foundation for Long Term Evolution (LTE/ LTE-A) systems, high speed WLAN 802.11 ac, 802.11 ax and also future 5G networks. The programme also focussed on application of these future technologies to support data rates in excess of 1 Gbps through MIMO/OFDM/ MU-MIMO to enable high rate applications in wireless systems such as – broadcast/ multicast video, HDTV on demand and high speed internet access. The training will also focus on research and development approach with suitable applications establishing connect with the industries requiring high data speed. The first day of programme focussed on comprehensive basic knowledge of wireless technology whereas the second day will focus on solutions with hands on experience and third day will focus on development of mini projects basis research.  Several experts from academics – Dr. Liladhar Malviya, SGSITS Indore, Prof. Padmaja Chennapragada – Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University enriched insights with practical implication. The training programme was attended by over 60+ students and 20+ faculties of various NIT’s and State Engineering Colleges/Institutions of Madhya Pradesh.
