Situated in Bhubaneswar, KMBB College of Engineering and Technology was established in 2009 by Sambad-Ama Odisha Charitable Trust. A highly experienced board of Governors professionally manages the college. With its commitment to all-round excellence, the college provides high-quality academic experience to the students. Away from the crowded city life, the side of NH-5 at Daleiput near Khurda in a scenic natural environment locates the institute. Built on a patch of 40 acres of land, the campus has been developed to house hostels for boys and girls, academic staff quarters, auditorium, and gymnasium, besides academic and administrative buildings. The college is approved by AICTE under Ministry of HRD, Govt of India and affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela.

Hence, it lays emphasis on participation in activities outside classroom and also provides incentives for the same. Besides the regular sports, games, annual day competitions, and college festival related activities, KMBB also offers other options for further development of personality and leadership ability of the students. These include NSS, Spic Macay, and AID. Association for India’s Development (AID) is a USA-based students’ organization, which helps undertake socially constructive development activities. AID India’s Odisha chapter is active on KMBB campus. It aims at creating a sense of social commitment among students and also gives them opportunities to engage with the local community through use of appropriate technology. The college also conducts many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like Techfest, social outreach programs, cultural and heritage programs, annual functions, sports events, and so on.
About the Chairman
Soumya Ranjan Patnaik is the Chairman of KMBB College of Engineering and Technology. He is the founder and editor of Oriya daily Sambad, a renowned politician, and also a feature film producer as well as a successful business personality. “KMBB College of Engineering and Technology has been set up in memory of my late parents to establish a center of excellence in technical education. While the students will be expected to put in hard work, academic integrity will be the cornerstone of all teaching-learning transactions. The institute believes that with the involvement of all stakeholders, students will not only excel academically, but also develop an integrated personality with excellent communication skills, that would ensure quality placement for all” asserts Chairman.

Anti-Ragging Initiatives
The college has taken various steps to ensure that ragging is not practiced in the campus. Ragging of students in any form is strictly prohibited within and outside the campus. An anti-ragging squad is in operation under the overall charge of the Director, Administration, Saroj Kumar Panda. Students are advised to bring cases of ragging (either on the college campus or hostel) to the notice of the Director, Administration or the teacher guardians or respective hostel wardens. The college aims to make sure that the students pursue their education peacefully without facing any external disturbances or problems.
