The institute aims at community development and improvement of multiple skills of the students making them self-reliant while promoting technology in teaching-learning and research.

Established in June 1983, Abasaheb Parvekar Mahavidyalaya has been a key element in propagating the value of education among the weaker sections of the society. It holds a B++ accreditation from the NAAC Bangalore since September 2012 with a 2.80 CGPA and was certified by the ISO in 2018.

Infrastructural Provisions

Since the students belong mostly to the underprivileged section of the society, the institute has ensured that it provides them with all the necessary facilities. This environment friendly institute which runs completely on solar energy has ensured that the journey towards learning is effective and profitable for all of the youngsters. It comprises of well-equipped computer lab, a computerized library which makes it easier for the students to find the books they need, a placement cell, incubation, research and innovation center, a gym facility which is free of cost, and ICT enabled classrooms.

Abasaheb is an institute that has invariably continued to make people aware of the importance of human values such as gender equality, honesty, nationality, cleanliness and non-violence. There are four major personalities who have brought out the significance of these positive thoughts namely J.T.Deshmukh Parvekar – President, Vithhalbhai Patel – Vice President, Arunbhai Pobaru – Vice President and R.S.Shinghaniya – Secretary.

The institute provides a variety of courses for the students to pursue and excel in namely B.A, B.Com, B.Voc, Ph.D, Certificate/Diploma Course in Library and Office Automation, Hotel Management, E-Commerce, Rural Handicraft, English Communication, course in computer for preparation of civil services, human rights, and UGC community college

Events for a Cause

Since the institute is a strong believer in propagating positive human values, it organizes a host of events to help those in need. In the past, students have visited the Sara Spinning Mill, Raymond and Rana Mill in Yavatmal, MGM International Hindi University in Wardha, and the Edufest career oriented lecture series. Cultural and Sports Activities: An Overview

Apart from academics, the institute also encourages its students to take part in various fun activities which give them a break from the regular routine while also harboring their inherent talents. It organizes sport activities such as cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, basketball, kho-ho, wrestling, chess, badminton, carom, table tennis, taekwondo and softball. It also provides the students with the opportunity to be a part of the NSS where a special camp is conducted lasting seven days in a village adopted by the university.  On the cultural front, there are a plethora of competitions conducted such as rangoli, painting, wallpaper making, quiz, debate, dish decoration, one act play, singing, dance and fashion show.
