Amidst the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan, girls are returned to the schools in Herat city. After the collapse of the government, the Taliban took over Afghanistan. It was being said that the Taliban will not allow girls to go to school.
But surprisingly, girls wearing white hijabs and black tunics are seen in the classrooms in Herat, the city in western Afghanistan. An AFP cameraman filmed these scenes few days after the Taliban took over the city. Before this, girls were attending schools freely and did not have any restrictions.
However, the administration of Afghanistan has been taken over by the Taliban and girls may be denied education and employment, as was the case in 1990s.
