Today, professionally trained managers with professional management degree are in demand and it has become well-accepted qualification for employment by various organizations all over the world. To provide innovative management education degree with hands-on learning the Aurora’s PG College was founded in 1995. The college is situated in Ramanthapur and is established under the aegis of Aurora Group of Institutions, which is one of the largest educational groups in the State of Telangana. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Osmania University.
The name Aurora was derived from the Latin word “Aurora Borealis” the famous northern lights meaning the Sun God Apollo. The name has been chosen as it synthesizes the Indian and Western tradition of representing the sun as the symbol of knowledge and power. Aurora is inspired by the Great Indian teacher, Chankya who redefined the role of a teacher as being that of a torchbearer of the society.

The college is situated in the heart of the city and is well connected to all parts of the city. The college offers several curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities supported by experienced faculty, well-equipped laboratories, Wi-Fi facilities, well-stocked libraries and advanced infrastructure. It has rich library with a large number of national as well as international journals and has a very large collection of reference books on advanced disciplines and digital collection of books and CDs.
Proficient Academic Leader
Dr. Madhavi is the Director of Aurora’s Post Graduate Colleges (MBA&MCA). She is an academician turned administrator with more than 20 years of academic experience blended with a decade of administrative practice. With the mentoring of Sri Raja Babu, Nimmatoori, Chairman, Aurora Group and Dr. Ramesh Nimmatoori, Secretary, Aurora Group, she has transformed the teaching-learning methods and the institution made MoUs with many corporate houses and agreements which include Confederation of Indian Industries and Bharatiya Yuva Sakthi Trust especially for motivating the young graduates towards startups.
Under her leadership, the Institution has entered into academic partnership with Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore where IIM will be offering one specialized course for the students of Aurora. The institution is also progressing towards partnership with Austin University, California for student exchange very shortly.
Dr. Madhavi is a seasoned academician and published a number of articles in various National and International journals as well as edited five books. She is the author of ‘Principal’s Hand Book for MBA Colleges’ and ‘Student Academic Manual for MBA’ which got copyrights for Government of India. The NSS Units of the Institution have adopted two villages and two schools for extending help in social, economic, literary, health and nutrition areas. Under her leadership, the institution has achieved the ‘Best Institution Award’ from the Government of Telangana for active participation in Swatch Bharath Program.
Career Development Activities and Campus Placements
Aurora emphasizes on holistic development of the students and grooms them to become all-rounders through academic excellence, personality development, communication, and soft skill development, leadership skills, critical thinking skills, organizing, and effective implementation skills. The students are provided with an extensive campus recruitment training every year to make them corporate ready for employment with the necessary skill set required by the employers. Every year around 40 companies visit the campus for recruiting the prospective students during their final year of study. More than 70% students get placements in reputed companies and some the prominent recruiters of the institute are Wipro, Genpact, IBM, Infosys, Karvy, Factset, Amazon, Delloitte, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Capital IQ among many others.
Academic Excellence
The students of Aurora excel in academics and have bagged a couple of University Ranks among top 20 Ranks of Osmania University. In the Year 2017 Ms. Navya bagged University 1st Rank in MBA and Ms. Kavitha Pandit secured university 2nd Rank in MCA. The college bagged many such ranks since its inception showcasing its academic excellence.
Events and Celebrations at Aurora
Aurora celebrates several festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Guru Purnima and Christmas. Apart from this, every year the new batch of students are warmly welcomed by the college through Induction Program ‘Alaap’. The Convocation Ceremony ‘Samaroh’ felicitates the Toppers of the institution with Gold Medals and Merit Certificates for their performance in academics. The Annual Day ‘Anubhuthi’ encourages the students’ talents and participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular areas. Along with these many other local, national and other important events are celebrated at Aurora.
Financial Assistance
The college supports the financially weak students by giving concession in tuition fee. Poor students are given scholarships and complete tuition fee waiver for their entire course. The college provides various forms of financial assistance and supports in applying for Government scholarships, trust scholar ships and other financial assistance services provided by various Government and non-government agencies. Moreover, the eligible students are offered with suitable part time job opportunities while they study in the institutions.
