India, March 29, 2018: Mr. Hatim Dadabai, Managing Director at BAHRAIN INSTITUTE OF HOSPITALITY AND RETAIL, BIHR, Kingdom of Bahrain, revealed that BIHR has recently signed the “MOU” Memorandum of Agreement between Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail, BIHR and International Institute of Hotel Management, IIHM in Kolkata, India.
The MOU is focused on providing mutual benefits between the parties’ academic communities. BIHR and IIHM agree to provide mutual exchange of students’ through a Study Abroad Program & Internship, Faculty Exchange Program, Collaboration in Research Projects and Industrial Training.
BIHR and IIHM tie up is an added value to both organizations to mutually obtain its vision in promoting hospitality and tourism world-wide.
Mr. Nigel Viegas, Executive Director at BIHR, Kingdom of Bahrain stated that, “The partnership’s aim to internationalize the students’ experiences and to provide theoretical and applied learning at an internationally recognized standard is a great leap to ensure productive and innovative graduates in the field of hospitality and tourism”. He added that currently, the institute has a population of 200 Bahrainis and international students, with 35 students from India and 16 different nationalities from Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, and Bangladesh.
Dr. Suborno Bose, Chief Executive Officer of IIHM, India has quoted on the tie up, “This milestone will take the IIHM’s objective of providing vocational training for the unskilled and semi–skilled populace of India to another height. With IIHM expanding to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC, it is a huge step to realize every individual’s dream to obtain a guaranteed job placement overseas.”
The exchange program will broaden the academic and social experience of students and promote alliances between host and overseas institutions while, the presence on campus of both exchange students and faculty members from overseas partner diversifies the student population and encourages local students the benefits of an international educational experience.
