CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in 1831, which administers CHRIST. The CHRIST Institute of Management (CIM) was established by the CHRIST University Trust in Lavasa, which is the promoter of CHRIST University, Bengaluru.
Humble Beginnings
The CIM campus was inaugurated at Lavasa on July 20, 2014 and it started with PGDM course with the mere capacity of 12 students in one building. The institution was granted “deemed to be university” status in 2019, by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The Analytical Hub now offers several UG (under graduation), PG (post-graduation), and Doctoral-level programmes in the field of commerce, law, data science, and management.
The institution grew gradually in number and infrastructure and currently houses more than 1000 students under its wings.

The Lavasa campus was named the ‘Best Emerging College’ in Pune by The Knowledge Review. The Bachelor of Data Science Program was ranked sixth by the Analytics India Magazine Education Ranking 2020 in ‘Top UG Programmes in India’. The AIM Data Science Education Ranking ranked the MSc Programme 15th in the list of ‘Top Full-Time PG Programmes in India’.
