Heatwave Leads to Extension of Summer vacations in MP Schools

Due to the recent heat wave, summer break has been extended for junior children in Madhya Pradesh schools. Seniors will attend at a rescheduled time. The day temperatures have been consistently higher causing serious concerns about the health of the students.

The state administration of Madhya Pradesh has decided to prolong the summer break for pupils due to the prevailing heat wave. For kids in Classes 1 through 5, schools will stay closed until June 30, taking into account any potential health risks posed by the intense heat.

Students in Classes 6 through 12 will also adhere to a modified timetable. From June 20 to June 30, they will attend school in the morning shift in an effort to limit their exposure to the warmest hours of the day.

Given the current hot circumstances in Madhya Pradesh, the government’s choice to extend the summer break and apply a modified schedule for higher grades shows how seriously it takes the welfare of its citizens.

On July 1, 2023, elementary schools for kids in Classes 1 through 5 will reopen and resume regular operations following the lengthy break. Likewise, beginning on July 1, 2023, classes for students in Classes 6 through 12 will resume as usual.

During this period of high heat, it is crucial for parents, guardians, and school administrators to exercise caution. It is highly recommended to take the necessary precautions to maintain the security and welfare of pupils, such as keeping them hydrated and shielding them from excessive heat exposure.
