IDRISSI School Celebrates Golden Age Inventions By Upcycling

Eco-Islamic International School’s Exhibition Features MOU Ceremony With Yunos Emre Institute, Turkey

Setia Alam: In 10 days on Saturday the 17th November 2018, at the Setia City Convention Centre IDRISSI International School will be organizing Golden Age Inventions, a history and creative learning exhibition that will feature demonstrations, presentations and showcases by our very own IDRISSI International School students, inspired by the book “1001 Inventions”.

This exhibition will highlight the experiential learning & research by IDRISSI School students on the information gather from the book and other sources. With the help of the school’s education faculty, they set up educational booths to present selected inventions and discoveries from the book to the public. There will be over 20 booths. Students will present their chosen inventions using recyclable materials via upcycling methods based on their Eco curriculum learning. Some of the topics covered in this exhibition are Preservation for the Afterworld (Pyramids), Arena of the Mind (Chess), Flight, Blood Circulation, Code Breaking & Cryptography and many more.

There will also be demonstrations and showcases as an extension to the booth. The feature showcase is traditional Turkish archery. Traditional Turkish archery is one of the oldest archery traditions in the world from the era of Ottoman Empire, it is both martial art and recreational sport with spiritual significance. Humbly proud, IDRISSI School is the first school in Malaysia to incorporate Turkish Archery lesson in its curriculum by signing an MOU with Yunos Emre Institute, Turkey on the exhibition day.

IDRISSI School will include Turkish Archery programme in its curriculum, and the Yunos Emre Institute, Turkey will provide consultancy, expertise and equipment to support the programme. On top of that, this partnership also contains provisions for a future student exchange programme along with more educational affiliations with other Turkish organizations and parties.

Golden Age Inventions has two objectives – sharing the knowledge and celebrating the illustrious Muslim Golden Age heritage that inspired empires and crafted human civilization, and sharing the IDRISSI International School learning experience. It will be attended by public, parents, distinguished guests, and most notably His Excellency Mr. Bilal Erdogan & Her Excellency Dr. Merve Safa Kavakci, the Ambassador of Turkey to Malaysia.
