IIMC skips entrance test, merit-based admission for PG Diploma courses
IIMC skips entrance

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has changed the admission criteria this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The institution will not administer an entrance test for entry to PG Diploma Courses, rather, the admission will be based on merit. The IIMC states that the selection of a candidate will be based on the markings secured by a candidate, followed by an interview online.

“Accordingly, instead of the traditional mode of entrance test, that IIMC has been resorting to in the past, it has been decided to adopt an admission process for all the courses this year, in which more weightage is given to the marks scored by candidates in qualifying examinations, up to Graduation level, including Intermediate and Matriculation examinations, followed by an online interview to be conducted by IIMC,” the release mentioned.

In conjunction with the prospectus and application, the institute will issue a notice on Thursday, 30 July. The applicants who have applied in accordance with the notification of admission on 3 July must not reapply.

All diploma courses will take place in online mode only during the first half-year. The schedule for the start of classes will then be announced by the institute.

IIMC provides postgraduate diploma programs across campuses in English journalism, Hindi journalism, Urdu journalism, Radio and T.V., advertising, and public relations (ADPR).
