Ideas are not chasing capitals; capitals are chasing ideas” said Mr. Ninad Karpe, VC 100 X partner at the “WiseViews” Interactive Webinar Series conducted on June 4, 2021 by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE). IFHE has launched the Online MBA Program recently and so far conducted 7 such webinars for the benefit of prospective students.

Mr. Ninad Karpe was speaking on the topic Startups – from Ideation to Scaling and shared his views of the current scenario of the startups and its future in our country. His talk was laced with nice presentation of short videos of some of the startups like Dollarshave Club, Casper mattress, Under Armour etc. In his talk, he explained the nuances of the startups and said “One should have the passion to grow rapidly and should aim to achieve sustainable growth over a period of time”. “Growth is critical than earning profits”, he added.

Aspirants should adapt to technology to solve various problems that we come across in our daily life. One has to think differently and come up with innovative solutions. You should have the perseverance to succeed in this field,” Mr Karpe opined. He further added Investors will come forward to fund novel ideas.

Mr Karpe further advised “Think of a product which has a global appeal. Journey of startUp is a journey of wealth, not income. Incubators, Govt Policies are lined up now for founders to succeed in StartUps.”

While mentioning about women entrepreneurs in rural areas Mr Karpe opined that it is tough and they need more and more incubators and more courses on entrepreneurship to be taught and more success stories are to be shown in rural areas to motivate and train up the rural women.

The webinar was moderated jointly by Prof. R Prasad, Director – Academic Wing, ICFAI Group and Prof. Sudhakar Rao, Director – Branding, ICFAI Group.
