Oakland School Board Approves Vaccine Mandate
Oakland School Board

The directors of Oakland Unified School District board on Wednesday, voted in favor of a resolution mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for the students of grade 12 and up.

The resolution was first introduced by board directors Sam Davis, Gary Yee, and Cliff Thompson on September 8, and their debate during Wednesday’s meeting was welcomed with both support and condemnation from community members in attendance.

The CDC advises that everyone aged 12 and above get vaccinated, and the FDA is continuing to conduct clinical trials to confirm that these vaccines are effective and safe for children.
