The institute comes under People’s University, which is situated in the beautiful “City of Lakes” Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh. The university campus is spread over 69.19 acres of the area near the National Highway No. 86 in Bhopal. It is credited to be Central India’s largest single-campus University. Developing Overall Competent Graduates

The Institute regularly conducts an orientation program for the new students which involves frequent industry visits to get exposure and basic knowledge about the industry and industry functioning. To name a few exposure programs organized for the senior students:

  • To develop entrepreneur skills among the students; institute celebrated world tourism day where the students set up food stalls of different regions of M.P.

Regarding the future, the institute plans on Culinary Science and Diet Management to be combined to balance taste and health and provide nutrition to the healthy guest and eye appealing food to the invalid people. It also wants to develop contents of culinary science and hospitality as per user’s requirement.

A Creative & Innovative Chancellor

Suresh N. Vijaywargia was born in Bhopal on 12th May 1944 in a business family. He did his schooling in Bhopal and later joined the State engineering college at Vidisha (MP). He played an active role in all the activities in college and was the joint secretary of the students union. He got his electrical engineering degree in 1968.

A natural aptitude for entrepreneurship coupled with leadership quality helped him in setting up of successful business in India as well as abroad. Despite a promising rise in the US in the ‘70s, he returned to his motherland in the early ‘80s and continued with his successful stints in the field of film financing, construction, and retailing. He started a chain of super bazaars in Bhopal, the first of their kinds.

To help the poor and gas affected people of old Bhopal, he started a charitable 100 bedded hospital namely People’s General Hospital in the old locality. A larger vision coupled with intelligence and creativity helped him in realizing his biggest challenge and dream of setting up an educational hub in the city of Bhopal. This resulted in the formation of the People’s Group promoted by Sarvajanik Jankalyan Parmarthik Nyas, a Charitable & Non-profitable Public Trust established by Mr. Suresh Vijaywargia. The People’s Campus located at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), India, is one of the largest for Medical, Dental, Management, Hotel Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Media, Nursing, Paramedical, Physiotherapy, School, Hospitals, and Healthcare in central India.

Vijaywargia has embarked onto a mission for creating and harnessing talent pool for various disciplines. The journey of People’s Group began with the prime objective of “Nurturing Humanity through Health and Educational Excellence”.

A Determined & Resolute Vice-Chancellor

Dr. Rajesh Kapur has been Senior Adviser and Scientist “H”, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi and has been steering R&D in the medical and health care area for the past over two decades in the country. He was the Managing Director, of Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Limited (BIBCOL) a Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of India set up for manufacturing oral polio vaccines and other immunizers.

He was also the “Trustee” of The Wellcome Trust/DBT “India Alliance” which is a £160 million initiative funded equally by the Wellcome Trust, UK, and DBT to build excellence in the Indian biomedical scientific community by supporting future leaders in the field. Lastly, he was associated with the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi as a Senior Consultant in their mission mode programme on India Tuberculosis Research Consortium.

He specializes in core and cross-sectoral policy issues of academic development, biotech regulation, safety, public-private partnership, international bilateral cooperation and relations, and public concerns and consensus building.

Dr. Kapur is widely traveled and was a member of various Inter-Governmental committees and has been an active participant in FAO-WHO Codex Alimentarius meetings in India and abroad. He has been a member of the Governing Council and Scientific Advisory Committees/Research Councils of DBT and CSIR Institutions.
