The Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SSIET) was established in the year 2006 with a vision to make one of the greatest engineering schools being recognized nationally and internationally. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai and has provided an encouraging environment to develop the intellectual capacity, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving to the best of students’ ability. The institution is awarded with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The departments of CSE, IT, EEE and Mechanical Engineering have been accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Ever since its establishment, SSIET has fabricated young and dynamic engineers who would form the crux of the technical workforce of tomorrow. About the Chairman

A versatile Educationist and Entrepreneur Prof. Dr. S. Thangavelu is at the helm of Chairman at the institution. He has educated a good number of Agricultural Engineers in the field of Bio-Energy and guided numerous innovative research projects during his thirty years of tenure as a Professor.

He has published more than sixteen technical papers in various reputed journals and numerous articles in leading magazines on public interest. He is a Fellow of Institute of Engineers (FIE) of Institute of Engineers (India) and also the recipient of the prestigious “Outstanding Engineer Award “from The Institutions of Engineers (India).

“I do not want my institution to be walled off on all side; I want the culture of all lands to be blown about my institution as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my any one of them. Mine is not a religion of the prison house. It has room for the least among God’s creations “says the Chairman.

To reach the institute to greater heights and provide quality education, two young minds Dheepan Thangavelu, Secretary and Sheelan Thangavelu, Joint Secretary, place key role in the institution. The former he is the most charismatic and the most enthusiastic academic in development and implementation of the institute strategic plan to improve and excel. The latter he, a dynamic and progressive person, has not only been consistently showing exceptional results in placements but also making significant progress in research and industry relevant consultancy projects.

Excellent Academic Programs and Facilities

The college offers twelve UG (B.E / B.Tech) and five PG courses (M.E). The college has well-qualified, experienced, dedicated faculty members and supporting staff members with excellent academic research and industrial work experience. IT VAC and Core VAC training are included as a part of the curriculum to improve students’ skill on the basis of industrial requirement. Every student in SSIET is well trained not only with their hard skills but also with their soft skills so as to sustain and tackle in any tough situation.

SSIET is known for its placements and industrial connectivity, and for the past five constitutive academic years, the college has given hundred percent placements to the final year students who have enrolled for placement. In the academic year 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18, the number of 469, 589, 543, 553 students respectively placed in reputed companies such as Ducen, Samsung, Amazon, CISCO, Johnsons Controls, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tesco, K7 Computing, Zoho Corporation, TCS, CTS, Robert Bosch, Tivo Corporation, Odessa Technologies, Johnsos Control, Think and Learn, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Mindtree, Impiger Technologies, Robert Bosch so on. The highest salary of the last academic year was 27 lakhs per annum and the average salary was 3 lakhs per annum.

SSIET holds a team of highly talented and vibrant trainers functioning as the Department of Career Development Cell and a full-fledged Placement and Training (PAT) Centre. More than Just a College

The college encourages its faculty members through incentives and sops to acquire higher degrees, to publish textbooks/papers and participate in Seminar / Workshop / Conferences. Faculty members are encouraged to have many industry collaborations with a motto of novelty and creation to address all needs of the society and the industry. This institute organizes various flagship events like Orientation Day, National Leadership Summit, AgriFest, Powerpuff Girls, Kalam, Tech Bash Symposium, Techtors– project contest. It also organizes International Conference on Computer Communication and Informatics every year. The institute had published over eight hundred articles in IEEE explore through this conference.
